Kickstart Day 5

Another day, another day of combat! I know, I know... so much Combat! I'm starting to remember more tracks now.. and my stamina is back! Now, I can consider going for Body Attack soon... hahaha! Not my fault that there's so much BC... it's really the most convenient class to go to, though I will try to alternate more in the future. Thinking of either swimming or going for Zumba tomorrow. Haven't done weight training in quite a while too... only squeezed in some chest press after Yili's class on Tuesday before rushing back to cook for the hubs. Just to record, on the chest press machine, I'm currently at resistance level 7. I do about a total of 50 chest press only, and then I stop. Already I can feel my arm muscles becoming taut again. :-) But I would need to start downing protein shakes again if I want to make them big... hahaha!

Anyway, went for Body Combat, Terence's class at SH. I got some extra storytelling to do at the end of my post, so just go to the track listing first. Same as last week, he started with No Easy Way Out and Are You Gonna Go My Way? The first track after warm-up was the very fun "THUNDER!" song.. just that too bad most people don't do the arms.... aiyah, it's because of small things like that that I like Terence's classes anyway. :P Next up was Bagpipes, another oldie track that I love, and then back to the new track listing with True Believer. Hmm, True Believer is one of the newer tracks that I don't mind. :P For the recovery track, he went with Shake Ya Shimmy, which nobody shakes again... so ... blah.. Don't want to be the only one shaking my ass.

Muay Thai track - back to the new track called Blade, which I specifically told Terence I don't like.... please don't do again.. hahahaha. **demanding member** Reason is because there are too many downward elbows... sometimes feels like swimming in the air, but most importantly, makes me feel like puking. Now that my stamina is back, the puking feeling is not there anymore, but I don't want to risk it, especially when I really go all the way and elbow down in my most gaya style wtf.

Finale track is Summer Rain, another new track that I don't mind... lots of arms, but somehow (maybe because stamina is back), I don't feel the pain.... but it really made me unable to do the conditioning track after that. :P Which was Do It Again, a very old conditioning track with tripod push-up... which not really is a tripod push-up IMHO... just a Superman lift.... Ended with Silence by Alexandra Burke. I just found out the name for this song!! It's really nice, and a lot of people are calling her the new Whitney Houston. Whaddya think?

Anyway, it was an awesome BC class... and nothing beats the tired, smelly, sweaty feeling after the class... and then going for a refreshing shower. Somehow you feel much cleaner than ever. Also been saving a lot of $$ on water bill since I bathe all the time at the gym now. My toiletries at home remain unused!

Okie, now time to story you... as we all know, the parking near the TF SH branch is really havoc. What to do, it's prime area. Usually, I park illegally (like this also can admit), but today even the illegal parking was full. I decided to park behind the gym, which is the "clubs" area... and I thought I was so lucky that I had a parking right in front of this shop that appeared to be closed down. Once I had parked, two guys suddenly appeared and they hung around my car. I just asked.. er... there's parking rates to pay meh? They said yes. I was like .. huh... ok... how much? They asked me where I was going and I blurly (stupidly?) just said the gym. They replied, oh, the gym... well usually we charge people RM10 to park, since this is the pubs area... but since you are just going to the gym, you just pay whatever you feel is right lah.

WTF!! I hate it when they say that! I really feel like just paying RM1, if even that! But I am afraid that they will steal my tires if I do that. I really was in a dilemma... and ended up, I just fished out all the RM1 notes that I have, which amounted to... more than if I paid for normal parking at USJ. Is there some legal parking nearby? Sigh... damn stupid lah. I was also afraid that they will be nearby when I come out from the gym, and indeed they were... and they were talking to a guy who just parked behind my car .. talk damn long and cannot even see I'm reversing is it? Shit lah... FML... moral of the story is I need to open up my small eyes and see where got legal parking nearby already that is not filled up all the damn time!

Day 389

Couldn't make it for Wednesday or Thursday classes because of work. I told you that it's taking up all my time, gosh. -___- Had to work extra hard because Friday is a public holiday, so I had to clear up some stuff... lots of problem logs, etc. T____T Was so exhausted....!!! And then on Friday I couldn't even exercise the wholeeee day as planned because my sister's friends were planning something for her hen night, and asked me to go along "because I'm the sister" lol. Hahaha. Anyway, I didn't do enough for them la.. they were really gung ho and the true organisers. All I did was teman shopping (not really helpful also since I don't know where to buy the stuff they required) and then help to sew the sash. For the hen night itself (whereby I missed gym on Sat and Sun too.. T___T) I donated / sponsored my alcohol stash (including my brand new Moet). :B

Knowing that I would be missing from gym for so long, after the shopping trip to get my sister's hen night stuff, I did the class which I thought would burn the most calories... what other than Body Attack! Hehehe! Thankfully managed to make it for the class at Jaya 33... which is actually the only Body Attack class in TF that day. :D

Edmund did BA#64... very happening class that day. Lots of energy from everybody. Hehehe. Anyway, I missed doing Bridge Over Troubled Water, Don't Give Me Your Life and Something Good 08. Of course, always loved Crank Dat and All I Ever Wanted, by Jason Y does that quite often. :D

Woooh.. damn happy. After class, my friend asked me why I always say "Thank You" to the instructors at the end of the class. Do they know me? She asked. Erm... I think it's just polite to say thank you to the instructor lor. No doubt they are paid to do the job, but in school last time you also said thank you to your teacher after class right. They don't have to know me for me to thank them for teaching a great class, a class where you feel like you really enjoyed yourself. :) Anyway, that's just what I think lah. Feel free to disagreee...

Day 377

Bad day at work... so much things to do.... planned to do weight training and then have an awesome Jam session for cardio. But wound up leaving work at about 9:30pm... so by the time I arrived at the gym, it was already 10:15pm.

Anyway.

FUCK MY LIFE.
I lost my chorey notes for BA 66.
Curse the feller to hell who took it and didn't return it to the gym lost and found.
I keep saying... whatever I have found in the gym throughout the years... I always gave to lost and found. Whether membership cards, WATCHES or lock & keys... but whatever I have lost, NEVER been returned to the gym.

I've only memorised about 75% of the stuff... and what pains me is that BA66 is the one with the bonus track, so I can't get the chorey from the video (cos it's not there). I know... the chorey is same as the interval track for "I Kissed a Girl", but it's slighttlllllyyy different. Well, I wouldn't know now would I. Gotta cari kawan to photostat the book again but it's soooo not the same as having the original ok. I feel like ordering another DVD set just to get the book back again. See?? This is what I get for being studious and reading & practicing chorey... just left the booklet around. I know la, I'm careless but I can't help being negative and thinking that if I was just a lazy bum, I would still have my chorey notes with me. :P

I can't stop thinking about it, because this is something so valuable and useful to me... and to any other ordinary member.... who found it... or THREW it away... gosh... it's like nothing to you... but for me it's a precious commodity... *whine whine whine*

Anyway... I'm watching the video to write down short chorey notes of my own til I get my own back. Grrr... *marah*

Weight training today :
- chest press 6,8,10 @ 30kg, 27.5kg, 25kg ** increased **
- incline press 6,6,6 @ 13.5kg (I know, that's soooo little compared to chest press, but the movement is different, and we all gotta start somewhere. After comfortable @ this weight, will increase for sure)
- fly @ 26kg, 24kg, 21.5kg ** increased **
- abductor & adductor (still @ 45kg,40kg,35kg)
- leg press (@ 70, 60, 50).. **increased **
- low row @ 35kg, 30kg, 25kg ** increased **
- back extensions @ 25kg, 22.5kg, 20kg (I got back problem... don't wanna stress it)
- some kinda back dunno what ... forgot the name (26kg, 24kg, 21.5kg) --- as above
- leg curl & leg extensions @ 35kg, 30kg, 25kg **increased **
- did 3 sets of triceps extensions (free weights, 8lb each hand) --- the usual triceps machines was taken up by great hulking guys... blehkz

For cardio + other conditioning, I did a few tracks from BA... hahaha.. so I can remember the chorey as well. Did BA66 tracks 1-5 (I must admit, it's very good punishment when you forget the chorey, cos then you'll feel the pain when you are doing endless number of squats when you could've been doing an easier movement) and then randomly did # 7 just cos I like the chorey for it. ;p Then jumped to "Right Round" to work the abs...

Was about 11:40pm when I finally finished everything... productive day... but still damn sad over the loss of my booklet. And when I asked the frontdesk if anyone found this thing.. she didn't even bother to check and just said no. !@#@#%#$^)$#%(#@$ Pretend to check also cannot ah. WTF!

Day 265

Very sleepy today, slept in the car again once I arrived in Taipan... couldn't help it. Hahahaa. Raymond says that if this continues, I'm going to become the sleeping legend of Taipan... anyway, I thought I would get a quick workout today, but turned out to take quite long...

Today is weight training day, but I was itchy backside and decided that instead of doing the Cardio Wave thingy alone on the 2nd floor, I should go for the Cardio Wave class! Was super blur, and saw the schedule for Wednesday... thought I would be attending Annie's class. In the end, was pleasantly surprised to see that it was actually Hazrin's class, and I was early enough to attend the back-to-back Cardio Wave sessions. Honestly, I'm quite proud of myself! Back when I first joined TF, and they had these Cardio Wave class thingys, I could BARELY make it out after 20 minutes! Now I'm like the aunty gang who can do these things back to back... super proud yo! And of course, Hazrin was a tres excellente instructor, from him I learned the difference between putting your feet more towards the "inside" of the step or "outside" of the step. It works different parts of your legs! If you put it "outside" and turn your knees out too, then it really works the outer part of your thighs! See, even turning the knees slightly outwards can alter your performance dramatically! Last time, I believe the Personal Trainer told me that I could anyhow place my feet wherever I wanted. Whatever la, should've known better than to listen to him as he probably can't even last 10 minutes on the Cardio Wave machine. *bitter*

Okay, anyway I think Cardio Wave class is quite nice now la!! Hmmm.. I will go for the class instead of working out alone next time.

After that, I went to do weight training.... legs torture this week!
- > abductor & adductor (@35kg, 40kg, 45kg! OMg.... I am so strong!!!!! But 6 reps for the final one. I think I should stop adding on more weight , duncha agree?!)
- > leg curls & leg extension (@25kg, 30kg, 35kg)
- > leg press @ (40kg, 50kg, 60kg)
- > 40 sets of sit ups
- > 1min ++ of plank
- > 5 minutes of stairmaster to cool down

That's about it. My drama started after my last exercise... when I realised that I don't have my locker keys! I was soooo sad... I searched around all the places I had exercised, and it wasn't there. Searched the locker room as well... nothing. Finally had to admit defeat and go to the counter and first asked if there was any keys in the lost and found. Nothing (as expected). So had to wait around more than 10 minutes for the staff to take the lock cutter out. Okay... I was quite mad because I had to wait around so long, especially since everyone didn't even bother me and I just "hinggap" at the front desk like a ghost. The only one who saw me was Hazrin who said, "Hah you are still around?". T____T And I nearly CRIED pitifully. T_____T In a "Wuuu wuuuu wuuu ~~ I lost my keys~~~ " Hahahhaa.

Anyway, when the lock cutter finally came out... holy shit, no wonder the girl was so unenthusiastic about the prospect of cutting the lock! First of all that, thing is about half a normal guy's height. It's huge. It's heavy. It's cumbersome. Thank God I was using some cheap small lock, cos I think it's going to be sooooooo difficult to cut those heavy padlocks that even TF sells. Before I could go on with the lock cutting business, I had to fill in the "lock cutting application form" which has my contact details and a detailed listing of the contents of the locker. Wah... I felt so berjenama listing everything out ... (for posterity: )
~ gym bag from Nike
~ office bag from H&M which contains - Nokia hp, Guess wallet, Panasonic Lumix camera
~ shoe bag from Nike containing Ipanema slippers....
so on and so forth...

Some more I was wearing my "pariah" gym clothes today... the baggy shirt + shorts combo.. which makes me look like an aunty shopping in a pasar basah. So not matching my locker contents, ahahahhaha!

The girl (Natalie) trudged sadly up the stairs while I raced ahead, eager to get on with the lock cutting business. As she fiddled with the lock cutter, she said, "ERm... can you help me by holding on to the lock while I cut?" OMG. I BELIEVE THAT THIS EXACT PART IS HOW TRUE FITNESS PUNISHES THE MEMBERS FOR LOSING THEIR LOCKER KEYS! It was sooooo scary okay.. can you imagine.. one giant CUTTER trying to get a grip on a tiny lock, and then you having to hold the lock with your hands. Everytime Natalie struggled with the lock cutter, I could feel the thing shaking in my hands and I was so afraid she is going to slip and cut my fingers into two. I think she could see how scared I am so she said, "Haha, don't have to be nervous." OMG... how to NOT be nervous?! *drama*

Finally, the makcik cleaner also tak tahan our ministrations and ended up cutting the lock for us. Hahaha. And I didn't need to hold on to the lock. After that, Natalie checked back the contents of the locker as per the listing I gave... blablabla... see the IC, driver's license... and I even show her that the HANDPHONE has my BEAUTIFUL PICTURE as the wallpaper.. hehehehe!

Felt so bad about the whole thing... cos the lock cutter is soooooo ma fan! It scratched and spoiled the locker a bit.... haih. I have such bad luck with locks in TF. First, I lost my lock and keys... and no one ever returned it. Then, my lock RUSTED and the key got stuck and it took like 30 minutes for me to open it again. Now, I lock myself out of the locker by losing my keys... sigh!!!

Anyway, this is how a lock looks like after getting cut :

And this was what I bought immediately after, at the 100 yen shop in Taipan. I swear, I need to stockpile these things!

Day 260

I'm so sad! I'm mad, and sad and ... nothing else to rhyme with. So let me just tell you upfront what is making me annoyed. Every month, the GX coordinators will post up a list of "changes" in the GX schedule. Generally, the schedules are pretty static, except when the instructors can't make it and then they have a replacement (due to work load, illness, etc). If Instructor A does Group Exercise AA on Mondays at 8:30pm, generally it remains that way for a really long while. The list of "changes" each month isn't a lot... but this month I got really hammered when I saw two changes that will affect my workout...

a. Jason will no longer do the 6:30pm Body Jam class in Taipan. !!!!!! WHAT!!! Sigh... I guess my quandary over whether I should go for Jam or Combat has been answered... Combat for me from now onwards on Friday lor. If it's not Jason, I don't want anybody else... *Cewahhhh*

b. Prudent's 9:05pm Body Attack slot on Thursdays will be replaced by Janet or someone else I don't remember. (Sorry!) Sigh... guess that means no more Body Attack for me on Thursdays. :P

I feel quite sad about this... cos I just "discovered" his class this year, and so far, it's always been an enjoyable workout. Today we did a mix of old and new releases, btw. I didn't know that they have already started mixing it around. I hope Alex C still does the new release tomorrow for BC. :P Anyway, back to Attack --- yeah, and his classes seem to be even more PACKED than ever... so it's a pity lah, not to have him around. Some more he's such a nice guy... after he announced that today is his LAST CLASS, he so nicely asked me (when I was walking out, and saying thank you), "By the way, I never got your name..." Sigh... if he even comes back to Taipan, surely he would have forgotten me by then lah. T______T And I was FOOLEd by the notice ok! The notice said "For the month of April 09..." and it was labelled as "Temporarily replaced", so I thought it's just for the rest of this month that he won't be teaching. Mana tahu when I asked him, he said, "I don't have classes here anymore" (!!!!!) and "I will be gone for 6 months." (!!!!!!!) Of course, I don't know the reason lah... I guess it's work-related?

So there... the write-up for my not-there-anymore Attack class. This should be useful for the person who found my blog by Googling for "Prudent no more Body Attack class" wtf. Seriously, someone did search for that term and wound up here. Hahaha. So random Google-r, now you know. Come, we cry together.

Also, randomly found out that if you google for "I love True Fitness", I am the ONLY search result that turns up in Google. But if you google the same statement for a rival fitness center, that one has a few pages of results. Hahaha. Come on True Fitness, time to reward your loyal and loving member, hehehe.

FYI, my colleague told me that his gym (in Sri Kembangan) is getting rid of Les Mills programs like Body Combat and Body Jam. OMG, I swear if this gym ever does that, I'm going to QUIT. I cannot fathom group exercise without Combat and Jam! He said the gym plans to replace those programs with similar exercises, but without using the name "Body Combat / Body Jam" so that they won't have to pay for the Les Mills licensing. And since I've recently taken up the notion of having TWO gym memberships, I've been looking around at the group exercise schedules of other gyms, and seriously, a lot of them don't have Body Jam, Body Attack, Body Balance, Body Step, etc! Body Combat seems to be the #1 Les Mills program that they maintain, but Jam is replaced with numerous other dance classes (e.g : "Cardio Groove", "MTV Jam", "Latin Mix" etc which True Fitness also have!... some at least!), yoga or stuff like "Fun Step", "Step 101" and so on.

Anyway... that's all for now... just crapping away. Oh yeah, today I lost a bet with my friend because I was soooo sure Sexy/back wasn't a Body Jam track. Erm... it was part of Dec 06 Body Jam release lah... I have no idea why I couldn't remember it at all! Anyway, now I have to treat someone to a Japanese meal... doh! And the more I think about it... it's a superb tune, of COURSE they would use it for Jam! I think I don't remember it because the steps are not nice / too difficult to dance to...

Thursday, March 26, 2009

Day 248

Body Attack, new release again. Very sien because not everyone is doing the "ready-get-set-go" position during the running track. That's the best part sia...~~ Very stylo! :D Even for my first time, I only missed the first cue.. kekeke. Anyway, damn siasuey, started running in the wrong direction some more. Sigh...

There's also a track that Jenny & Jason didn't do last week... now I know why. Cos it's a "split class" track where each side is doing something different from the other person. While 1 side does push -ups (zomgzz), the other side is doing the skating thing. Takkan last week 1-on-1 challenge? Hahaha.

Oh yeah, don't you wonder about those people who are 'regulars' but don't seem to improve? It really makes me wonder.. you do all those classes for what? You don't even get the concept of "mirror image" and you are moving to your own rhythm. Why don't you and all those sama gang with you start your own class. You might say it doesn't "harm" me that they are like that (just treat them the same as newbies), but newbies have an excuse! I have a soft spot for newbies, because we were all once at that point. These people are just old, stubborn and refuse to learn already. Guess what? You are not the instructor.. go follow the person on the stage!! I don't like it because they have NO EXCUSE for being so n00bish and I have to "zhao ku" them when I'm doing my stuff so I don't bang into them. Bah!

By the way, thanks to my labeling system on blogspot, I have found out that the top Group X classes I have participated in since coming to True Fitness is :
Body Combat (no surprises there) ... the surprising part is that it is 30% more than the runner-up, which is Body Jam. However, if you count ALL the dance classes I've ever done to be lumped under one category ("Dance"), then the total times I've done dance classes is more than Body Combat by 7 classes. Hahhaha. (This sounds like a math test, which I'll end up "How many BC classes did I take, compared to Body Jam?")

Body Attack classes are come in 3rd, more than Body Step by 25%. I started Body Attack later too (as in, I never did an Attack class prior to TF)... so I'm very amused by my wonderful statistics.

Cheers!

Day 216

Still keeping to my promise of gymming 7 days a week. But boy am I tired.

Drove to Jaya33 for Body Combat (JonLow's class)... hate driving to PJ from Bangi cos the drivers are all maniacs. Managed to make it to his class in the nick of time and I had to stand at the back cos the class was PACKED to the maximum. Don't encounter this in Taipan, maybe cos Taipan has SUCKY timeslots for BC, barring Monday night's slot. Sigh... and standing at the back, I had the joy of being behind this total ahpek uncle who is uber n00b and does kicks like he is doing ballet. Damn sucky.

Did a lot of tracks that I totally do not remember... except for We're Not Gonna Take This, Come to Me and Behind the Cow. Hahaha. The rest were from later releases? Oh, and there waS Jump, not that I remember the chorey very well. I thought there was some jump-jump-kick kinda chorey? *blur* And as usual when I'm in Jon's class I always memalukan diri by not having the correct direction during the circle / face-off track. :D Happy enough that Jon let me whack him although he said I'm dangerous wtf.

Anyway it was a good class... and there was a new comer next to me as well.. who asked me how long more it was til the class ends cos she was dying, hahaha. And that time we were just about to do recovery, so I said, "no worries, here comes recovery, then only we worry about the next 2 intense tracks." Then recovery turned out to be the not-really-a-recovery Behind The Cow. Hahahaha. Zha dou...

Like the class and like the instructor (;P) but don't know whether I want to come next week since it's soooooo packed. Like seriously packed! And I'm grumpy whenever people take over my favorite spot. Hahaha. By the way, about "favorite spots" right... I'm not like some whores who when you stand in their "favorite spot", they will go and stand like 2 inches right in front of you, hinting to you to move away from them. Those people can seriously go and kill themselves la, because that is fcuking selfish. If someone takes a spot I'm used to standing at, I'll just fcuking move away la. Why make a big deal out of it. I don't mind standing anywhere in the classroom as long as it's not next to Dangerous Guy and I can see myself in the mirror (which is why I'm so annoyed when someone stands RIGHT in front of me).

Anyway, just because you're good at a certain Group X class (whatever it may be) it doesn't mean you can stand in front of other participants. Whether it's your favorite spot or you want to shine or whatever.... if you're so starved for attention, go do the training and become an instructor so that there can be all eyes on you lah!

This is not aimed at anyone in particular today because this didn't happen today... it happened NUMEROUS times on OTHER occasions. Srsly, I don't care if it's your spot or not.. if I'm early then it's mine. You didn't pay the gym extra to permanently book that spot for you right? Hah!

Day 211

Today, I decided to leave work early-ish and go over to Jaya33 to work out instead. A spin on the usual routine. Had to get back into the groove after wasting precious work out days during the long weekend, which was actually spent pigging out in Asia Cafe. :P Called Pauline to join me, tempted her by telling her that there was going to be BC. After ffk-ing her in the 2 previous Jaya33 classes, felt bad about not joining her too. :P

Anyway, I thought I saw that it was Lorraine replacing the class today, but it was another instructor whose class I've never gone to before. Hmm. I won't write his name here because I want to complain about two things... but pls don't take this the wrong way. I'm not bitching, and pls read this in a tongue-in-cheek manner. Seriously, there is nothing horrendous about his class or anything of the sort. I have to say that I was enjoying myself for the first-half even. :P

Okay, the main reason that I'm kinda peeved is because he forgot the chorey to Bagpipes which is UNFORGIVABLE to me. Hahaha! Cos even a n00b like me can remember the steps, so an instructor like you can't make a mistake that a n00b doesn't make. :*( The four-steps-punch-to-the-front, knifes, etc continues until the "eerrnnggggg" part in the music. That is totally normal and expected lah, because during the "eernnnngggg" part, you're supposed to sink down and rise up again what! Sorry if you don't get what the "eerrnnnggg" part means because you have to listen to Scooter's Bagpipes to get what I'm saying.

Anyway, it's still ok if he cued wrongly, but still corrected himself, but he just persisted with his missed-out tempo, which means the knees started on the "eerrrnngggg" part. Unforgivable! How do you even follow the beat for that? O_o

Okay, and then for the second part, he doesn't let us have any fun with the "YMCA" track. Errrr... not to compare, but the other instructors who did this track last time danced to it as well. Sure, like only 5% of the class follow along when they do it, but it's still supposed to be a FUN RECOVERY track. When I added in my own flava to the routine, he asked me to keep my guards up. T_______T FYI, I keep my guards up most of the time, unless the song is a fun one and you can have erm, more style when you do the steps.

Sorry if I offend you in the next statement, but Why So Serious? Everyone knows that Combat is not seriously seriously something you're going to use to defend yourself, nor do I think that if I should ever be mugged, I'm going to put my guards up and start doing jump jacks (haha, yes like THAT advert on TV). It's more like.... a fun way to do cardio and maybe learn some BASICS about martial arts, but not anything that I think I could use in a fight. JUST MY OPINION. Anyway, so if the participants in your class are enjoying themselves and not harming themselves by doing a step wrongly... I don't know la. Instructors who say, "Keep your guards up" then are so... spoil sport.

Just my very HUMBLE opinion. (Not that there are many people reading this. Evidently)

Last of all, this was not directed to me... but to another class participant (I'm sure you can guess who). The instructor asked her not to shout so much. Okay.... this whole shouting-in-Combat thing. I used to be a non-Shouter because I didn't even have enough wind in me to survive 1 class, what more do the steps and shout like a wilderbeest throughout. I think I had my lips pursed shut to give myself this serious warrior face wtf. And then one day, one instructor said, don't keep your breath in to yourself, huff it out, and if you choose to vocalise, then go ahead. Slowly... slowly... the vocaliser in me was awoken wtf wtf.

Seriously, I think punctuating a punch with a "HAAAAAAAA" is bloody stress-relieving. But I won't go gila like Dangerous Guy and go on a screaming rampage. That is just not me, hahaha!

Next, I shout to SUPPORT an instructor, especially when his / her class is really quiet. And I thought instructors like some noiseeee in the house. So I don't know why the instructor asked the other class participant not to shout? Maybe he's concerned that she won't have enough energy towards the end of the track? Let me just say now that if you ask me to shout from the start of the track to the end, I can do it. :P (cocky face... if you could only see me now). Anyway, of course I know my own limits... if I can shout earlier on and I think I'll be able to shout til the end, then that's my business ler...

Fine... next time I know, I'll be silent in this instructor's class...

Not that I plan on a next time. I think I'll go back to Taipan on Wednesdays... Attack!!! At least the instructor there appreciates some well-placed exhalation/shouts... buwahhahahaa.

Having said all that, I'm not dissing this instructor or anything. I'm just sharing opinions. If you think I'm wrong, that shouting is not good (BTW: I'm not shouting for the sake of shouting ok. But sometimes when I feel extra ganas in the class, then I'll be shouting more. It's a scare-tactic when fighting your invisible opponent. Muwahhahahahhahahaha!!!), if you think that your guards should always be up.. then fine. Take it as a learning point for me ... perhaps I should take BC more seriously ... even though I think it's just for fun. ANYWAY. It was still a good workout - and my friend told me that she thinks his class is the most intense BC class that she has ever gone for. (She's been doing BC for a year, but only goes to Jaya33 on weekdays, and mostly to Pavilion. The BC instructors she's familiar with is this guy and Nicholas).

I think this guy has a lot of fans too... his class was quite full. Did a mix of old and new tracks, so he should be an old hand at this stuff too. Anyway, he entertained the right side of the class more, so blueekkk... entertain you by writing this long stuff. Oh..!! He allowed me to punch him 4 times during class... not bad... I like instructors who allow the students who do that. It shows erm... trust. Cos if I get the chorey wrong, the instructor is gonna get hurt, right? Hahahahaha.

P.S.S : This is like. my longest entry ... ever?

Day 65

I confess! I woke up late again today, and missed Body Attack with Jason. But never fear because he will be teaching at Jaya 33 tomorrow! And guess what? I think his class in Taipan was cancelled la. Cos I went up 15 minutes before the class ended and there was no one there! :P So I guess the extra minutes of sleeping were worth it after all. :P

While waiting for Body Jam with Shirlyn to start, this industrious Leech went around trying various machines. I worked out :
a) 3 sets bicep curl @ 10kg
b) 3 sets tricep extension @ 10kg
c) 1 set shoulder press @ 10kg (stopped only because I realised with horror that I didn't do any cardio before doing weight training. I only did it anyway because I had time to waste).

It was then time for Body Jam... mix of old and new. The only new stuff we did was the last performance track (the one with the heel-toe jumps... erm... the Sexual Healing one) and the Beautiful Liar cool down. Otherwise, everything else was from the 2nd last release. The one with "James Brown hands", Fergalicous, Cassie's Long Way To Go, etc. I am looking back and wondering why I ever thought of Body Jam as a "filler" class. You know, the kind of class that you can easily go for after Body Step / Combat / Attack because "it's not as high impact". Rubbish! The crazy steps nowadays take a hell lot of stamina. And what's this cardio club thing, has you jumping around like a jackrabbit. @_@

It was a hella enjoyable class anyway. Shirlyn is a super smiley person.

Then it was time for Personal Training with my illustrious trainer. It was 30 minutes on the crosstrainer for me before seeing him, and this was our workout today :
a) 3 sets of hip adduction (22.5kg, 10kg, 5kg for 16, 18 and 20 reps)
b) 3 sets of hip abduction (as above)
c) 3 sets of squats (16 reps each)
d) 3 sets of chest press (10kg, 7.5kg, 5kg for 16, 18 and 20 reps)
e) 3 sets of pectoral fly (as above)
f) was supposed to do biceps and triceps again! I told him I already did in the morning so we reverted to 50reps x 2 of sit ups and lower abs workout.

He then tried to convince me to take on more pt lessons. I gave him my politically-correct reasons why I didn't want to anymore. Then I said that Sundays were the day to do the body fat analyzer thing. He said, "Buat apa saya nak measure bila you tak nak ambil lebih session?" (what for I wanna measure when you not taking extra session). Damn wtf right! Maybe that's his knee-jerk response, so I said, "Eh, I still paid for the existing one ok and I intend to keep measuring every Sunday until my session ends." So of course he had to concede.

Then he kept saying that sure I gained fats and what not because the past week I had skipped two of his PT sessions. One was because I had my period ok. 2nd reason was because it was my birthday and I had no intention of seeing his make-me-buy-more-sessions face. Anyway, I was superbly confident that I did NOT gain weight, mainly because --- heck, look at this blog la. Although I skipped two of his PT, I went to the gym hella lots of times. And I even did that 5 class marathon. AND I did not neglect weight training even when I was taking lots of classes. Or maybe its the hot yoga sessions that are helping...

So guess what? In the end of cos the results showed that I LOST WEIGHT and LOST FAT and my fat percentage is now 20.7%. Apparently athletic level is 18%, so I registered as "low fat mass". Even lower than the recommend levels for ladies, which is 21-25%. AND I lost FAT (not muscle) from my trunk and legs. I am now less than 2kg away from my dream weight... =) =) =)

You know what that illustrious trainer of mine said? He said, "This shows I'm a good trainer." Wtf. After he was sooooooo convinced that I had gained fats from skipping two of his classes. I just didn't say anything la. Anyway, not to say that he hasn't helped me at all. I have learned the importance of weight training with him, but above all, all his politically-incorrect, sometimes bordering on rude comments motivated me MORE to work out on my own. Going for training with him makes me count the days until the training ends so that I can work out on my own.

Today to further "convince" me that I should take more personal training, he pointed out some random girl running on the threadmill. And he said that "you know this girl? She always go for classes only. I like her body better last time, when she first join. She was big, but toned. Now she's flabby." I was like... -_____- "Did you train her last time?" Answer : "No, I just observed her cos I always notice her." Yalah, mata always wandering around one. I think in the future after I have dropped training with him, he will point me out to his future customers and say, "See her? Damn flabby after dropped training with me." I can foresee his kinda actions already. -___-

I was going to say, "THIS FURTHER MOTIVATES ME TO WORK OUT LIKE CRAZY AND BE SUPER FIT AND TONED." But then I know he will still point me out and say, "See? She is toned because of me." Yalah, can foresee. I am clairvoyant, wtf.

Anyway, do I sound bitter and angry? I'm not... just like I said... this guy doesn't know how to retain customers. Even after the chart was printed out and showed so clearly that I lost body fat, he still like tak tau baca and insisting that I gained. After like 3 years only conceded. I suggest to the managers of any fitness center to ensure all their trainers know how to read charts and such before letting them train anyone. I will not forgive the two morons from FF and TF who called me obese wtf. This blog should be called 'yisoobese.blogspot.com'.

And guess what? When I signed up that time, they say give free session, free session. Poda la! When the session is coming to an end only they inform that the free sessions are the same as the "free training" given when you sign up to the gym. Meaning the sessions will be for you to familiarise yourself with the machines, and not following the fitness program tailored for you to achieve your goal. -____- Ya, they tell you that when they want you to sign up for another round of personal training.

At point of writing, the trainer has conveniently forgotten that he owes me free session, whether it's to familiarise self with machines or otherwise. But you know what? I don't care la. I just don't want to go for training WITH HIM (or any of his friends) anymore.

Day 55

I'm proud that I'm kinda getting back into the gym groove again. This September's total amount of times I went to the gym is high --- my original target actually, and what more, I am slowly starting to ENJOY more and more of my classes. I enjoy the whole gym experience, from working out alone in the women's area, or doing cardio on the machines, or going for classes. I no longer get bitter like I used to when I missed classes because there's so much more for me to do. =) So yes, I'm very proud of my effort this month.

Just that the darn weight doesn't go down! I don't even PIG OUT that much anymore. Actually with reference to my last post, I actually want to complain more about the ASSUMPTIONS the trainers made about me, but more on that another day. I don't like to dwell on things that I don't want to think about.

Today's work out --- Body Attack with Jason + Brian + Prudent. Why so many instructors!?! Damn intimidating, especially when I - first time doing the new release for BA - chose to stand at the back, and mana tahu, Prudent was standing at the back. -___- Well, at least that meant that if I couldn't catch up, I could just look to my side and can be 100% sure that the choreo is correct. =)

I really felt like fainting in Body Attack! So long since I have done Body Attack, what more with a new release. It's not like the new release is ultra difficult, it's just that when you're familiar with a certain release's choreography, you know when to really go "all out" and when you need to lay off a little because you know the next track is going to be more intense. Had to go for water breaks after every set, even after warm up! I like the latest "conditioning" track though - no tricep push ups! :P :P

Anyway, a really enjoyable class. After that, I chillaxed at the lounge for a bit, reading my Agatha Christie crime novels. A guilty pleasure since young. It was a bit intimidating chilling there though, because there were consultants and potential new gym members ALL around the area. There were no other gym members relaxing there. Where do these people go? It is so unlike my old gym, FF @ Consplant. I was so confounded that I actually had to ask the receptionist if the area was for everyone's usage or only for the consultants to use. :P I was only there for about 30 minutes anyway, before heading back for more working out.

I did 15 minutes on the cardio wave machine, and sweat was pouring out from every crevice. I don't know whether because it's more intense than my usual crosstrainer machine, or if it was the hot sun pouring in through the window, but I don't care. =p After that was weight training :
a) 100 situps (50 normal style, 50 butterfly style)
b) 3 sets of leg press
c) 3 sets bicep curls
d) 3 sets tricep extension
e) 50 grasshoppers! But I don't think it really works the glutes. I'll try something else next time...

Fearing a more intense weight training in the evening (training session with PT), I then went off to bathe and go home to watch StarCeleb. I watch this show because I sorta know (but they dunno me) 3 of the contestants (one of them is none other than our Body Jam instructor). My god, but some of the other contestants were really embarrassing themselves on TV. @_@ Even my mom tak tahan to watch the show any further, so I really don't know if I want to make any further efforts of cutting my gym-ming short just to watch another crappy reality TV show. @_@

Anyway, I went back to the gym at 8pm for PT. As usual, I did the crosstrainer by myself first... 15 minutes and now my heart rate doesn't shoot up to 200 anymore. This means better stamina, yo! Bad news is that the trainer then came and said today's session is cancelled. My God. During the "counseling to add more training sessions" talk on Friday, he said that he cannot help me if I don't add in more sessions, but is this commitment when he is the one who always cancels classes? Ok la, if within reason, I can still accept. BUT WHY YOU DIDN'T CALL IN ADVANCE TO TELL ME CLASS IS CANCELED? I am quite disappointed lor.

But as usual, I just swallowed my anger and just let it go. If this continues, I'm really not going to pei meen the next time. I worked out a bit more after that --- 3 sets of chest press, but really no mood already. You know, it's about 5km from my house to the gym. Maybe not far to you, but driving back and forth and back and forth is craziness. I would not have done so if I knew there was not going to be any training session.

Clearly I have made a mistake deciding to go for personal training. I will tell you more next time.

Day 2

I've fallen sick, and I'm helluva mad with myself. I've been dying to go to the gym today because its one of the few days that FF has Body Combat, but instead I've been visiting the toilet diligently. Just this morning I thought to myself, "hey, I don't think I've gotten SEVERE food poisoning before". Usually after a couple of trips to the toilet for a few days solves it. But today I went to the toilet 8-freaking-times and at one point was totally burning up. As Raymond puts it, anything you do 8 times also will be sien lah.

Yes, I don't feel bloated, but this is one of the few times that I wish the food I consume STAYED in my stomach a little longer. *urk* Can feel another trip coming up.

Since I knew that the food I was eating wouldn't 'stay' for long, I ate 6 sweets and 3 pieces of heavenly, hedonistically, decadent chocolates. Mmmm mmmm.

Breakfast : Oats with low fat milk, coffee with low fat milk, apricot cereal bar
Lunch : Wah Tan Hor
Dinner : Pear, 4 slices of Toast'ems.

Yum yum.
