Hello! Happy new year!!!
I bet you thought that I had given up again! Well... what actually happened was the holidays. :P I went for a trip to Bangkok, where I swear.... it's like 500m walk to the BTS station from my hotel. I was there 5d 4n, and I walked sooooo much. Seriously, my right leg was in pain for a few days after I arrived in Malaysia. Til today, I am a little afraid to go to the gym because of this reason... especially when I did a little extra walking when I was back at work last Friday... and the pain came back. Sigh...
I thought that with all that walking in Bangkok, I would come back lighter, but hells to the no... Turned out that I gained so much weight that I at the heaviest I've ever been in my life. For the first time ever, my MIL said that I'm fat (not in such a blunt way lah.. but still). T___T And did I mention that before I left for BKK, I actually LOST 1kg, through all the exercise I was doing?
Now, hubby and I are going to eat healthier (maybe he has no choice cos I'm the chef), and I'm definitely going to exercise more. The leg is better, but I didn't want to stress myself so much. To kick off 2013, I went for a swim at the condo... did only 5-6 laps today because it wasn't so syiok swimming today. A dad and his daughter were goofing around in the pool. I kind of do not like it, cos kids horsing around don't care about horsing around in only one area. Plus the dad was doing a lot of weird things to impress his kid like walking on his mofo hands IN THE SWIMMING POOL. It's distracting lah... it makes me not want to swim but see what other things he can do, lololol.
Not really tired after the swim, but let me post here for my own records: takes me 25 kicks to get from 1 end of the pool to the other. I must decrease this count!

Kickstart Day 6
Didn't manage to wake up in time for BC Release!!!!! *crying* To comfort me, my husband took me for big breakfast at Backofen, wtf. So going against my "getting fitter" strategy. :( So in the afternoon, when it didn't look *that* hot, I went swimming at the condo gym!
And achieved my own personal record....
Of 8 laps!! Muwahahhaa... 8 laps = 16x the length of the pool! Last time I told myself 7 laps, but it was actually 7x the length of the pool = 3.5 laps only. Omg! I don't know why today I can swim so much?! Maybe because the condo pool is not as crowded as J33 swimming pool... there were only two little Japanese boys playing, and although they annoyed me at first (cos they are kids... and they don't give a damn about staying in their own lane, and I have to swim around them), they were not that much of a nuisance 90% of the time. At the end of each lap, I would do high-knee runs for 30x before swimming next lap. High knee runs in water is damn easy la, like nothing. But makes me feel extra sporty, lol lol lol.
I thought I swam for barely 30 minutes, but when I came back to the unit, my husband said I'm gone for more than an hour! Looks like I swim really slowly, but hey, a least exercised for more than an hour!
Now am thinking of making Saturday swims a permanent thing, but gotta get more suitable swimming suit! Right now swimming in my bikini from VS which looks really pretty when you pretend to be suntanning (pretend cos actually slathered on lots of sun block + sitting in the shadiest area + umbrella), but actually wanna show how cute your swimsuit is. Aih, what do you expect when it's VS la. Should get something from Speedo or the ilk next!

Day 66
It's great having friends who know you so well.... it means that you don't have to waste any time explaining yourself!! Ya, I woke up late for Body Combat with Alex C today. ;p ;p ;p So much for my marathon again ya! I had half a mind to skip because I felt sooooo punctured from all the gymming of late. Yes - I feel great - undeniably so - but what's the point of going for more classes / running / etc if my legs are screaming in pain?!?!
But I dragged myself off to the gym anyway. You know why? Cos the previous day Pauline sms-ed me asking me what nice classes there were at the gym and I replied arrogantly, "BC with Alex C at 10am. Come early and join me swimming @ 8am!" Wahpiang...
In the end, I woke up at 8am shivering like mad! Was raining the night before, and that made leaving the cosy bed even more difficult. =p I kept resetting my alarm until I woke up with a start at 9:50am! Late for BC!!
If you review the time-tables for Monday's classes, you'd notice that Alex C seems to have invented a travel portal of some sort in order to enable him to go to Taipan from Jaya 33 in less than 15 minutes. However, I can attest that it can be done... if you drive like the devil and traffic is light and easy. Like, say during a public holiday? 0:-p
I was still late though, but by 15 minutes or so! They were already in the middle of the horrendous ginga-crazy track. I was wondering if I should go in or not because the class was pretty darn crowded (not 6 people only like in Taipan) and I was scouting to see where Pauline was. Then Alex came out of the studio and asked me to go in, never mind that it was quite packed. :P :P :P
So I completed the rest of the 40 minutes in the class, which wasn't that tough because I had already missed most of the power tracks. =p We still had the circle track (forgot the name already, one of the popular ones), did We Rock (yes, again!), had the "jump" song for recovery (how it can be recovery when you are jumping around, I'll never know), did the same final power track as on Saturday. Alex keeps promoting it as the "shortest final track ever, at only 3 minutes and 40 seconds." Did I get that right? Anyway, it has insane speedball la, dun care whether its 3 minutes or 5 minutes, my arms think it is 30 minutes! Conditioning and cool down was same as Saturday's one. *phew*
After that, Pauline suggested we trail him to Taipan to do another BC session? Girl are you crazy?!!?!!? I wanted to die already, its a miracle that I even showed up in Jaya33. My main motive, aside from the ego from boasting to Pauline was to get my coffee maker. =p
ANYWAY.
I *did* go swimming after all. =) After BC and a light shower, went up to the pool and it was gloriously empty. 4 of us (3 girls and 1 guy) dominated the pool, and all of us were super serious in our swimming. Well, earlier there was one aunty who hung by the side of the pool trashing like a fish out of water. Made doing laps a bit difficult, but she went away soon after. In total, I swam up and down the pool 10 times. That makes it... 5 laps? in 35 minutes? HAHAHAHA. YA, there was a horrible lot of resting in between. For goodness sake, I forgot how difficult it was to do laps. The last time I swam SERIOUSLY was when I was 10 years old, and only because I had to take swimming lessons.
In case you're interested, my swimming lessons ended prematurely, me only having learnt :
a. the breast-stroke aka frog kick
b. freestyle
c. backstroke
But I can only do (a). I never did get a hang of the other two, especially not (c). My instructor said that I had an innate lack of trust in him because I couldn't even float on my back for more than 20 seconds before sinking like a stone.
If you're still impressed by the number of laps I did, don't be. The swimming pool is not Olympic size. It is 20m short of being the normal length of an Olympic size swimming pool. =p But it's ok la, if I can't even swim 30m without being out of breath, for what harap for an Olympic size pool. Either way, it was damn nice and relaxing to swim in the pool in the 11:30am sun. Fooh. Love this gym. =p
That's all for today. *REALLY* need to rest tomorrow because I have run out of gym shorts. Wtf.
P.s: Thanks to ST for the coffee maker... you really kept your promise! :) And no thanks to Giggs for trying to steal my coffee maker away... grr!!

Day 58 + 3rd Day of Infiltration
After a day of recovery, Pauline and I headed back to Jaya33. Damn, I really can't make my mind up about this place! There are a few interesting characters here that would make gym-ming really fun, but to pay extra $$ for a place that I will visit only on the weekends really seems silly. Drat.
Since we were both still "recovering" we decided to work out only a little - did Hot Yoga and finally got to 'visit' the swimming pool today! This is also my first Hot Yoga class ever, Nick kept "promoting" this class when he first asked me to join TF, but I never felt the need to go there. Omg, it is really fun! The class isn't TOO advanced, it's like normal Body Balance or Yoga, the instructor goes over the steps carefully and slowly so anyone can follow, and you sweat hell of a lot! Seriously, every single thread on my body was soaking wet at the end of the class. That's one of the bad bits too --- once you step out of the Hot Yoga studio, the air-conditioning chills your wet clothes and then you'll be shivering like a leaf in the wind! XD But the class was really good and I think I'm finally getting a hang of this yoga thingy. I mean, I like it now and will stop avoiding it like the plague.
You know how much Pauline likes it? She likes it so much that she's considering joining TF just for this class!!
After that, went for swimming... I felt so self-concious because I was the only gal (at firsT) wearing a two-piece swimsuit. Some more like, such a funky one. -___- Thing about me is that I only have two-piece swimsuits because trust me, the one piece one is lagi unflattering (which you won't believe but since I know my body more than you do, then I suggest that you do believe me). Anyway, it's not like I'm such a shy person, but there was some guy at the pool also who I mean, if you wanna spy on me and Pauline when we are showering, at least do it with the corner of your eye? Don't have to twist your body 180 degrees and look ok! Wtf.
Anyway, we jumped in, and ... the pool is kinda small. But gosh, so nice to be swimming again! I'm not fast enough to do laps like the guys who dominated the pool, so I had to swim erm... the other way. Hard to explain. Instead of doing laps, I was doing... crosses? Donno how to explain. Basically, it was just two kicks and then I'll reach the other side of the pool already. Hahaha! So we just kept going back and forth, back and forth....
Sigh, when will the pool ever be empty enough for me to swim laps?! Seriously packed at about 9-10pm today.
Got this need to swim within me even though I just did lame-laps today. @_@ Why? Why? Now I really feel like joining. But this kinda 3 year commitment is a big leap la.
Did some really bad stuff recently. Everytime after working out at Jaya33, Pauline and I will have dinner together, and we are bad influences on each other! We eat indomee goreng, sup kambing, ayam goreng, RAMLEE BURGER, etc etc etc. And yesterday my friend's house got broken into, so I teman-ed her as she sought comfort in chocolate. I ate pasta and chocolate mocha mud pie in TGIF!
Oh Lord, forgive me for I have food-sinned!!
