Day 355

Friday had to work late... sucky production issue. My last week had been horrible. I was sleeping at between 1am-3am or being woken up during those hours for deployment issues. I'm the type of person who, when finds out something went wrong during work, gets really screwed up. I will not be able to sleep properly, and I when faced with the prospect of going to work, I will feel like I'm marching towards my death sentence. So it's been really horrible week for me. So I missed my usual BC class on Friday, and on Saturday, although planned to workout before and after meeting my friend, I ended up sleeping til late (cos too tired from the rest of the work week), woke up to meet my friend, and then worked in the office from 8pm til 5am.

On Sunday, I worked from 8pm til 3am.
On Monday, production no issue, but another long story there. I was supposed to be on leave, but went back to work to settle the outstanding issue. I keep feeling like "diu yu" (fishing, aka nodding off) during work, but thank goodness my good friend RayRay came back from Laos so when there's someone to bitch with, life is 50% better. :)

Thankfully, before going in to the office no Saturday, I had a chance to go for Sam's Body Step class. This is my first time going for her class, but I already knew she's a good instructor from when we did Body Attack training together... :p Feel so shy when Sam said, "Good, Lee Cheng!" to me hahaha. What to do, I'm a Body Step n00b mar... :P

Day 341

Went to my first Body Step class in about 6 months! Kept telling myself that I wanted to go after the last launch, and today it was quite by accident that I went. I thought it was Body Pump that was the last class for the day, but turned out to be Body Step. Okay lah... hahaha. Which reminds me, I *do* want to do Body Pump again!

Anyway, Body Step's latest release is really nice! I like everything except for the speed step track, which is not as fun as the "Walking on Sunshine" / "Cha Cha" days. :( It has very weird movement... I feel that it's a bit off beat. :( Most of the members also don't like it. But I really like the party track ("Just Dance"), the final power track ("Fire" --- yes the Scooter song) and the track with the half-burpee. Was just talking to my friend the other day about what a burpee was, and Roland said, "Don't ask me why it's called a half-burpee." So here I am to enlighten you all (wtf, me trying to sound knowledgable here).

A full burpee is when you go down on a squat, and put your hands in front of you (like about to do a push-up). Then you kick both feet back (now you look like you're about to do a push-up on your toes), then you go down into a push-up. Both feet jump forward back to squat position and hands are raised off the ground, and then immediately you leap as high as you can into the air.

For the half-burpee being used in Body Step, you only do the squat and push-up, there is no leaping into the air. So that is why it's only a HALF. As to why "Burpee", it's supposedly named after the Lieutenant that came up with this exercise method. :)

Okay lah, I survived Body Step. Now to try Body Pump and Body Combat new release. Think this round they really reused too many songs. In Body Step, there's Just Dance, Hot and Cold and the When You Leave song which is in Attack. Body Combat also has the When You Leave song. What's this man.. hahaha. Only Body Jam has fresh un-recycled songs this round.

Day 274

Today was Jason's last Body Jam class in True Fitness Taipan.... note that it is TF TAIPAN ok... hahaha.. his official last class in TF is in Sri Hartamas ... Body Jam. Supposedly he'll be doing a 2hr class there, so if you want to dance til every bone in your body is sore ("until you crawl home"), then do join him there! I think it's from 8pm-10pm... which even a non-Hartamas fellow like me could make it to... just depends on whether I feel "syiookkk" enough to drive so far on a working day, ahhaha.

Anyway, I felt soooo sad, cos for his last class he did all these weird old tracks that I've forgotten how to dance to. Hahaha. One was the weird "Indian" dance which has tracks from Church, Pump It, Beautiful People, etc. This is my 3rd or 4th time doing it, and honestly don't like the moves for it. Hmph! For the finale we did the Please Don't Stop The Music performance track. I quite like this... but quite kaku doing it after not doing it for sooooo long. But I still like it.... love the jumps. Hahaha.

Su Yee prepared farewell cake for Jason... and one of the members actually bought him flowers, omg. Hahaha. Don't know whether you can see, but she uploaded the pictures here! Thanks Su-Yee... everyone afraid to eat the cake because typical lah.... want to lose weight mah... hahahaa. But it was delicious! :D

After the class, I went for Shirlyn + Raymond's Body Step class, where they did everything from release #71. Haha, I think Raymond is better at teaching Body Step than Body Jam.. :P No offense meant at ALL.. just that I prefer attending his Step classes. Quite enjoyed the class, was surprised that I could make it out alive. I don't want to boast, but I think my stamina levels are gradually getting higher and higher... feeeeeeel the power babeh! :D Anyway, after slacking off by only attending really late classes at CF, it felt sooooo good to be back in True Fitness... some more they had those showers with hot water and high water pressure... lol.

Oh, and I got to do some upper body workout too... since I was too shy to use the ones in CF. Just did chest press & fly. Chest press up to 25kg, fly still at 19kg. Anyway, it's good to press metal again.. hahaha.

Day 237

Went to Sri Hartamas TF ... for the first time! Well, there are some things I like about the place, and others which ensures that I won't keep going there again and again. Which is fine by me, cos it's not really that convenient. Once in a while is ok though, cos there are some nice eateries in Sri Hartamas that I can try out while I'm there. :P

Went for Body Step (Hazrin's class) and it was really fun. Well, what more can you expect from a Head Instructor's class, ekkeke. We did some fun tracks like Another One Bites The Dust, Cha Cha, I Don't Feel Like Dancing, Do We Rock, the "I'm coming up" song, quite syiok la, haven't done Body Step in a really long while.

After class, bumped into Hazrin at the pantry, and got to dig out lots of info from him regarding the new release. He seems quite sincere (ahahhaha!!) in saying that the new release for Attack & Step are good, so I'm feeling quite positive about the first quarter's launches! Good news also in the form of him saying that the next quarter's release will most likely be in Jaya 33 and Taipan again... yay!! :D

He's also very funny... told me, "You'll love the new release of Attack... a lot of push ups!" T____T And when I complained that I have zero upper body strength, he said that the body will acclimatize itself after a while... hopefully la. In my case it's been years and years and still soft like tofu. T___T

Day 209

As previously mentioned, there has been a change in schedule for Friday classes at Taipan. James is no longer doing BC from 9-10pm. There's a new slot for BC - 6:45 - 7:45 and it's going to be taught by Alex C instead.

Man, it's quite cruel to make us choose between going for Body Jam with Jason or to go for Body Combat with Alex. I think Imma go with Body Jam (which is what I did today!) and I'll go for BC on days that I'm running late and the studio looks Jam-packed already. :P Or on days when Jason is not around wtf.

Jam today was all kinds of awesome, even though I've totally "sumbang balik" all the years of Jam practice after slacking off from the gym. We started off with this warm-up track that Jason has been quite fond of... I just can't get the name. But it's very upbeat and catchy!! Crap.. I'm gonna look for the track name later. Followed up with Where My Party People At which I've only done once or twice before this? Then it was the Ran Can Can Latin performance track. Wow.. damn long since I've done this! I can never do the double turn for this track, so I do a slow half-turn instead, hehee.

After that was Lolita, which is now one of my favorite recovery tracks (used to be one of my most hated ones because it was confusing to me!), and then it was the latest release's performance block. Honestly, still not used to it, but kinda can get the motions, but it's definitely not perfect or anywhere near it. :P

Ended with Lollipop which I really do not like because erm... I just dislike songs with overt sexual innuendo, hahaha. Then again, I like Marvin Gaye's Sexual Healing and Color Me Badd's I Wanna Sex You Up. Hehehe! [These are quite old songs, eh?]

After that was Body Step with Anthony... less than 10 of us I think, but it was a great class. I'm not good with Step songs, so I'm not gonna list all of them out. Just did some favorites like Chelo's Cha Cha and Britney Spears's Do Somethin'. I'm very happy that I managed to survive a Body Step class, so I'm going to be congratulating myself over this for some time. ;)

Day 201

Didn't quite make it for Marathon Fridays (darn Compliance team!), so I only went for Body Step with Anthony, and then Body Combat with Julian (I think that's her name). Body Step was quite fun... had a mix of old and new. (Old = circa "Walk Like an Egyptian" so that's like reallllllyyyy old for me. ;P) We had "Do Somethin'" for the finale track, which is one of my favorites! :D

Julian claimed that it's only her 2nd class to date, but she was a total pro! Don't really remember the tracks, but it was all from the more recent ones... like Zombie, and the final track from the latest release. Oh yeah, she asked if we wanted to do old or new for conditioning, and I said OLD cos new = that PCD song with triceps and what not. I was hoping she'd do the Rocky Balboa track. Mana tahu she fished out Fergie's Here I Come.. zomg... one of my most hated tracks. If you're able to do the kicks on one leg, you'll die half way on the other leg. T___T

Oh, Adrian is back, but he didn't teach. He also doesn't look any fatter despite all the weight rantings on his blog....~

Day 188

It was raining cats & dogs ... but I was determined to go to Jaya33. If not for the classes, then to eat dinner at D'Italiane Kitchen. :P

I managed to do both. :P

First was Body Jam with Shirlyn. Really nice class -- she did all these old songs that I haven't done in AGES. Mostly Latin stuff... I don't know the names. Come On Over --- most difficult recovery ever. She Bangs - super difficult. La Bamba - one of my FAVORITES... why do people not get the squat & turn thing??!! I honestly forgot the rest... but they were all really nice songs. The choreography was difficult too... *gulp*

After that was Body Step ... again with Shirlyn. Honestly, the Body Jam tracks that she did had a lot of leaping around, that I felt really tired. Didn't feel like going for Step, but was motivated to, just to collect the stamp for the Triumph voucher thingy. Step class was also nice... after the first few tracks, I thought, "I can do this! Not tough also!" But for the last 3 tracks, I was DEAD. Especially during the speed step... gosh. I could feel the soles of my feet BURNING up. O_O And then I became totally uncoordinated for the finale track... but pulled myself together for the twist knee thing. First time doing it, yo! :)

Anyway, I lost my card for the stamps. :( So in the end I didn't get a stamp for the Body Step class. :( But it did help motivate me to go for Step when I thought that I couldn't go for it, so it has done it's duty of getting me to move my booty. Sigh... I don't know if I should bother trying to get another card or digging through my stuff to find out where I have left the card. If I find it, will I still be as motivated to get the remaining SEVEN stamps??? O_O (Should be six la, wasted, couldn't get a stamp for Step... gahh!!!) COULD I get the SEVEN stamps in TIME?!!?

Oh, and the next release will be in Hartamas... on a weekday. Zomg... why such bad timing?!!? All the classes I like are at 8pm on a weekday. For me to reach Hartamas by then will require speed demon skills driving from the office. If it's Sat / Sun, I wouldn't mind. I was telling myself that I cannot miss another launch. Sigh... why lah TF is torturing me in such a manner...

Day 169

Aloha everybody! I'm back from my working trip in Laos. I loved it there! Seriously, I'm now thinking about the feasibility of living & working in a different country every month. :O Thing is, I like money too much to just forget about commitments and travel around the world. Sigh... but living in Laos was really good! Better than my last trip to Cambodia!

I had serious doubts about being able to complete my usual Friday 3-classes-marathon, but I surprised myself when I did manage to do so! Of course, was dog tired at the end and I am *so* going to have a good sleep tonight. I could even feel butt and calve muscle pain like last time, but luckily it wasn't serious and it was towards the end of the class, so I just worked it off. ;)

Started with the new release from Body Jam with Jason and Clarissa (sp?). I really like the new releases from this quarter! For all 3 of the classes that I went for. Anyway, back to the story about Body Jam.... I can't remember ALL of it, til I do a few classes, but I super loved the choreo for Beautiful People, it is so awesome that we can dance to ROCK tracks, not just the club and house type. :) The tracks seem to require more and more stamina at each release... there's one squat and switch movement (macam Russian "Kalinka" dance) that works your thighs and ass like nothing else. T____T Oh, and one more new move that I like is the one where you jump in the air and attempt to click your heels together. I forgot what it's called, but that one is awesome too. I like jumping! Hahahaa.

Next was Body Step with Anthony. I was sooo lucky to stand at the back, behind these two other members who I think did Body Step training before. One of them, I have seen shadowing Anthony before, the other I tak kenal la. Anyway, so I could easily follow them whenever I got too confused (especially during the "round the world" bits) and I swear, if you looked at our class from outside, you wouldn't believe that the people inside are doing NEW releases. Everyone looks so pro, ok!!!! :3 I really like all the tracks for Body Step... really no complaints. The first track "Here I Come" already gets your heart pumping, and the "Live your Life" track towards the end is just so inspiring. I used to be avid Body Step member, then dropped out because of the "I don't want to make my calves any more muscular than they are" thought. Then joined back because it's honestly and truly one of the better Group-X classes for you to lose weight... I was really scared that I won't get into the groove again because seriously, Body Step ain't easy. But with new releases like these, I think I will definitely be going to Step classes more frequently! :b

Last, but not least, was Body Combat with James. He is so lucky, today he got many new female students, hahaha! Anyway, I was really dog tired at this point, but I was just too curious over how the new release would be. I watched the Les Mills preview before I left for Laos, and I think I must've watched the wrong one or something. They were talking about the theme being vampires, but doesn't seem very vampirish to me also. Maybe I'll go study the tracks later.

Warm up started with "Summer of 69", original by Bryan Adams in case you didn't know. Awesome! I didn't really like the second half of the warm up, but it's still ok. Next was "Beat It" by Fall Out Boy... erm.. it was alright.... ok I don't remember the rest. :x But I know that the choreography was pretty simple.... straightforward... ok la. I didn't really like the whole incorporation of Capoeira into BC, but not like it's a humongous turn-off. (The main reason being that Capoeira really needs a lot of floor space in order for you to do everything properly. It's damn not fun to do this on a crowded floor.. then again most of the jump kick tracks are like that too).

Really no complaints la.. it was a great workout day. It's always good to do new releases for the FIRST TIME with really good instructors... then you feel like you won't mind doing it for the next month or so. If it's not a good class, you end up avoiding that particular class for the next month or so. So thanks all for giving such a great introduction... hehehhee. (Ya ya, today's not the launch, but seemingly a launch to me)

Day 164

What satisfying workouts I always have on Fridays. :) On Fridays, my typical routine is Body Jam, Body Step and Body Combat. I was a little late for Shirlyn's class, but only missed the first warm up (Kelly Rowland's Work). She did a lot of really random old tracks.. really never done before type. Like She Wants to Move, er... I don't even know the names of the others! However, she did the performance track from the latest release. This is the 3rd - 4th week in a row I've done it... damn boring already. I remember the first time I did it I felt that it was so difficult, but now I think it's ma - ma- dei only. Hahaha!

Body Step with Anthony was next... he has reverted to old tracks ala Toxic, Candyman, 9 to 5, Independent Women, This Love, Tribal Dance, etc. Wah! Really syiok! :D Oh, and I found out where Anthony works.... I saw him at MY workplace! Hahahha! :D He came for training!

Erm.. last but not least, we have BOdy Combat, where everyone seems to be in mourning because there are no sounds unless you yourself start shouting first. Which reminds me, during Anthony's class, one lady said that his class was very quiet, and Barney's class is usually very lively. I felt very puzzled, because to me, there's not much sounds to be made in Body STep. Maybe that's because I'm not as into Step as I am into Combat. (I only started Step again because PERSONALLY, think that it is the most exhausting & toning-up aerobic class for me) I feel like the opportunity to make noises and "actions" in Combat are so much more plentiful. For Step.. ok la... I will do the funny dance movements and the clapping and all that... but no "hiyakkk!!" sounds la of coz. So I really don't know how to be noisier in Step. :P

Anyway, the point is... UNLIKE STEP, there's so much opportunity to erm... be lively in Combat! But anyway, I don't want to dwell on it since once upon a time I was silent too and I wondered how the creatures who would be shouting away had the energy to do all the movements as well as shout along. Hahhaa... well I guess now I'm one of 'em.

James' class today - We're Not Gonna Take This, The MAgic Touch, U R My Phantasy, You Can't Stop The Beat... more recent tracks, but I'm damn happy regardless because I like The Magic Touch and U R My Phantasy... and of course, this is the 2nd time I got to do You CAn't Stop The Beat... yayyy! I might start liking this more than Power of Love soon, kakakakaa!! But Power of Love more "yeng" la.. esp the switch sides for the speedball part. Hehehe... I am damn kung fu in that part. :P

Hmm... I'm boasting a lot today... guess I will sign off before I irritate too many pple. :P

Day 161

Strange workout day for me today... hear me out...

Have been finally getting my bum off the office chair and going to the gym more frequently, and I'm always pleasantly surprised when I discover I don't faint right away after one class. Since it's a Friday, I'm always up for my Friday marathons, which consist of Body Jam, Body Step and Body Combat.

Body Jam with Jason & Clarissa was quite fun, I *think* Jason said to me, "I haven't seen you around in a long time!" I think he said it to me la. For all I know I'm perasan and he was saying to someone behind me. But anyway, he is the one who cancelled the past few classes in Taipan what! And was replaced by Kit. Hehehe. We did the latest release... zomg.. don't like. Sienz already. But the final performance track (the one with "With Every Heartbeat" - Robyn) is good because it *really* makes you sweat. Since I wanna lose weight, should do more high impact Body Jam right? Right!

Body Step was next, with Shirlyn at the helm. Again, all the latest release. Why ah! It's way past the launch, people!! XD But again, no complains because I think the latest release for Body Step has really good songs. I especially like "I Got It From My Mama", "Hot Stuff", "Like This Like That", "Shut Up N Drive", "Let Me Think About It"... too many to name! But I agree with Shirlyn --- don't like the speed step track for this release, way too confusing. Pity, cos it's a nice song ("Footloose"). During the final parts of the class, I started to feel some strain on my calve, but I didn't think much about it because I just brush it off as a bit sore, maybe strained it after doing calve extensions yesterday...

Body Combat time with James, and I surprised myself by still being super energetic. I did contemplate skipping class after the grueling Body Step, but I already missed Friday BC twice! Anyway, James did a mixture of old and new tracks, but more new than old. Hmm.. everyone liking the new releases, hehe. Started with "Thank You" (Dido), which went into "Smells Like Teen Spirit". Forgot what the first track was, but it's one of the newer releases. Then we had erm... something that sounds like "Shooting Star". Erm erm... then there was "Zombies" (gahhh!!! enough with this track!!! I suggest doing "Sexy" - French Affair or "Bagpipes" or "Take A Break"). Geez, it's just 2 hours, but I've forgotten most of the stuff! Guarantee to you it's all the newer releases la! Okay, anyway at the end of the muay thai track, I started to do that "punching down" movement when suddenly my left calve "froze" and I nearly tipped over. It was excruciating! Seriously... tears sprang to my eyes. I thought it was temporary, so I stopped moving, but the pain was quite intense. It was so painful I cannot even put even 1g of weight onto my left leg. T_____T

After a while (30 secs?) then it became better, so I finished the Muay Thai track. Was about to start on the final track when suddenly the left calve froze again. T______T So painful until I cannot even punch properly, sigh.. I had to SHUFFLE out of the room I felt so malu ok. It's not like I can't finish the class... I have the energy! In torrents!! But I don't want to stress the poor calve. When I went out, I met this personal trainer who friendly-ly asked me, "Your class finished?" and I, usually a private person IN REAL LIFE (in blog like blabber mouth only) just blurted out, "I can't...!! My calve... it .... " and I think he could see the pain on my face and he was quite worried ler. So he asked me to do some stretching exercises. At first, stretching the calve was crazy painful. It's like, my mind actually blanks out when the pressure on the calve is too intense. And at one point, suddenly my RIGHT calve also became crazy painful too. T_____T

I was really wondering how I could drive back that night.

But the personal trainer was really nice and he gave me lots of tips... said that I probably push myself too hard on Thursday, and when I started my exercise for today, I didn't do enough stretching. I think the problem is mainly on Thursday... I didn't go and stretch properly between my calve extension sets. :\ Because I didn't know how to. STUPID!

Hmm.. anyway now I'm worried over whether I can go to Jaya 33 for my usual marathon of Body Combat + Body Attack + Dance Mania. According to the trainer, I can feel free to do so, as all I need is a warm bath and some cooling lotion on the affected area to "loosen" up the muscles again. Well, I've already done so and so far, no problems. But should I really go and "stress" it out again so soon? He also said that stress on muscles in one area can affect in other areas too. E.g : stress on calve can cause back pain also.

HAIH... why am I so unfortunate!

See how la... I'll just go for BC tomorrow... if I feel ok, then I'll continue with BA and Dance Mania... *sigh*...~~

Anyway, thanks a lot MANI for helping me out today. You didn't have to, but you were a really sincere & helpful individual... haih.. feel so touched by humanity today. T______T

Day 154

Started the day out with my usual 3-classes-in-a-row on Friday. :) Happy to say that I don't feel tired at the end of it all, a little sore in the muscles and feet, but otherwise it's like I could go on and on. =) Friday's Body Jam class was replaced with Kit again, and she's another instructor who likes doing old tracks and not just latest releases, so what can I say, I'm in love. =p Actually, there was one track which I think is from the latest latest release - Run It. I swear, it's my first time doing it! It's quite difficult la, all this pop&lock stuff. Haih, but at least we got to do this pretty old performance track that has Sean Paul's Dance Floor, Get Busy along with Bobby Brown's Humpin' Around and all. I LOVE THAT PERFORMANCE TRACK! Dance instructors, please do it more often, it really gets the crowd goin'. :)

After that was Body Step with Anthony & another shadow-er. I think Body Step has a lot of new trainee instructors, every week Anthony has someone new shadowing him! Again, we did a mix of old and new... and he did Do Somethin' as the finale track again. Hehehe, I'm so familiar with that track that I even know when the "throw glass" action comes in. :P

Last of all was Body Combat - James class again. OHAI Mr Dangerous Guy... you see when I come in late to the class I freaking stand at the back when my "regular" place is taken up. I don't freaking stand 1 foot away from you.

I don't wanna bother about that DG guy already la, I don't know why he irks me so much! See him in the class makes me feel T____T already. Did I mention that his DG antics also made him stamp on my foot recently. I am so unforgiving, once I kena I cannot even feign a smile and say "that's alright" because it's NOT. Cos I know that he wouldn't have hit me if he had a sense of rhythm and was following the timing and not trying to show off by punching fastER than the choreography. I mean, that's not the point! !!! ! ! ! ! !

Anyway, class was really good, James does all the old tracks. *heart*
You know how rare it is to find such an instructor. And he *doesn't* forget the chorey?
Cue another instructor : "Cannot remember the chorey then don't do that track lar, do something else." Nah, not I say one, your own sifoos also say so.

But not James!! Support his class!! The tracks we did that day (some which I still can remember la):

~ Full Metal Jackass (great song! hahaha)
~ Bagpipes (haih, the days when the class members yelled along with "LISTEN TO MY BAGPIPES!" are gone gone gone)
~ Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting

Ehehe, I can't remember anymore.

Anyway my gym entries are getting bitchier and bitchier... sorry la, looks like gym is not a good place for a stress reliever for me.

Day 151

Today... I outdid myself... *pats self on back*.
Could've gone to Jaya33 for the "Funky Friday Night" theme, but I knew that there would be tonnes of people, couldn't be bothered. But wait for the "Clash of the Titans" Body Combat... packed also I will squeeze myself inside. Hohoho... and if the Dangerous Guy stands next to me, then I'll be fcuked.

First up... Body Jam. Since Jason would be doing FFN, Kit replaced him. First time in her class, not bad. Did a mix of old and new tracks. Starting to like Work for the warm up track. Then we went to Latin (Don't You Worry Bout A Thing / Let's Get Loud) before going back to the new release for Feedback. Super simple movements, but with attitude, it's a super stylish dance. For recovery we had Anita, and we ended with the latest release's performance track and Beautiful Liar for cooldown.

Honestly, I wasn't feeling very upbeat for gym today. I haven't been getting enough sleep the past few days, and then today I forgot to bring my water bottle. -___- Halfway through the performance track, I felt like fainting!! And I know it's not due to lack of stamina, but because I was still drowsy. Zzz. Anyway, am proud that I managed to finish the class and didn't walk out early. Heh heh.

The old Leech would go home at this point, but since I'm going to the gym less & less, once I'm in I decided to go for Body Step. Same as last week, Anthony was teaching, and he did old tracks! I'm not a frequent Body Stepper, so I don't remember the names of the tracks. There was Superstar, Red Blooded Woman, Pour Some Sugar on Me (one of my fave Body Step tracks) and Do Something amongst the old tracks that Anthony did. I really had fun!

Again, old Leech would go home after Body Step. But I thought, what the hey, I already "tahan" my drowsiness for 2 hours +... let's see how long I can last in BOdy Combat. Besides, James is the "new instructor on schedule" after Adrian left, so I was curious to see how it would go. Honestly --- I didn't have high expectations because I thought he was going to do the entire BC #36 release again. Zzzz.. not that I don't like it, but I have grown afraid of Zombie and Don't You Wanna Feel.

But!! I'm so happpppppyyyyy in James class because he did old releases! And not like #35 or #34.. like way back to the Sweet Child O' Mine and Power of Love days! T3T Okay, I was beyond tired at this point, so I just went through the motions. Lagi don't remember the stuff that we did, but I remember there was also Tribal Dance, Pump It, Trouble for warm up... hehe.

Support James class!! More BC members next week plz. Felt lonely shouting by myself.

Day 149

Just found out that Adrian will be moving over to Abu Dhabi for work, so he won't be teaching at TF anymore for x number of years. :( So sad, whenever I get used to an instructor's class (ie : tracks he teaches, his cues, his teaching style, etc), then they leave!! (Or I leave).

Anyway, his "last class" on Friday was great! Except for "We're Not Gonna Take This", everything else was from the latest release. Eh, and he had this thing of pulling a member of the class on stage to shadow him. I was quite reluctant to do this because I don't think that pple who are not certified instructors should be on the stage. Elitist la. But it was all for fun, anyway I can see why people want to be instructors!! Feeling the energy of the class participants from the stage, pushing yourself to be faster and stronger, everyone's movement together like one single machine... unbelievable! :D Thank you for the opportunity Adrian. :P

Before Body Combat, I went for Body Step - Anthony's class. Was pleasantly surprised to find that I could totally follow all the new tracks for the new release with no problems. :P I guess all that mountain and step climbing was good for my legs after all. :P I'm now back to being a Step fan, totally want to do Step at least once a week. :) :)

Well, that's all for Friday classes, it's great to be back! Been overseas again - been in Hong Kong & Macau. And next week I'll be in Genting for an IT conference. Missing out on too much gym! :(

P.S : Adrian, you should have done the 3rd track with your fiancee instead.. the lyrics are perfect! "You stood by me and I stood tall, I had your love I had it all..." Better than Walking in Memphis!

Day 98

Haven't been updating religiously, been going to the gym less & less because I need time to settle my own affairs at home! I'm leaving for San Fran in less than 24 hours! The thought seriously intimidates and scares me! :O *buat drama*

Anyway.

I went for the "Santa's Sleigh Board" theme class on Monday at Taipan, TF. Before that, went for my usual 7:30pm Body Combat class. It was replaced by Loraine that day. I like the way she gives her cues (she's one of those instructors who take the initiative to cue you one step beforehand so that YOUR cue will come in EXACTLY when the music comes in. Makes you feel like an expert when you do the class). Also, she made me fall in love with MCR's The Black Parade choreo again. Damn cool.

Don't remember that much already. *paiseh paiseh*

The Body Step Christmas theme class was from 9pm-10pm. Were you there? Class participants were encouraged to dress in "christmas colors of red and white", which incidentally is the same as the launch this Fri & Sat. Can I re-wear what I wore today? The class was frikkin packed, I came 15 minutes early and had to stand at the back. Anyway, damn paiseh at first la ok! I came in my xmas-sy gear and everyone else not only didn't theme (except for one other lady) but couldn't even wear anything red and white together. Haiyoh. Wear according to theme la people! Why so shy!? O___o

Despite the initial discomfort (and let me tell you I didn't even put my full gear on. I had a Santa hat, some red and white hair grips, a CAPE wtf), got really into the class and just enjoyed myself fully in Barney & Anita's class. I haven't done Body Step in agesssss (because my trainer said it would make my calves grow bigger!), so when they did the tracks from Body Step #69, it felt like truly new tracks for me. =p =p Here's me with Barney and Anita (new instructor --- I think) hehehe.

In the words of Ben : I look damn damn damn damn damn damn damn damn bad here. Like a geek who somehow wandered into the gym studio by accident. Ehehe, I won a prize for theme dressing, I think solely on the strength of my shorts. HOW I GOT THE SHORTS ARE A SECRET. @_@ I didn't spend money purposely on it to wear it for class ok. I already had them on hand! ;p ;p ;p

Anyway, this is what I won:

I really like the mini organizer thingy!! I saw my colleague get one from HSBC and I was always jealous of it, haha! The other thingy is an alarm clock + calculator hybrid. Another lady in the gym saw it and thought it was a handphone!
If they gave out handphones for theme classes that would be REAL REAL interesting! I think everyone would dress up, rent costumes and all some more!
The candycane - everyone in the class also get. :P Thanks to the instructorsssss!

Well, in conclusion : hope other people will participate in the theme classes next time. The GX co-ordinators & instructors susah payah decorate and announce and prepare for it, so we as students must layan also la. Correct?!

You can see Su-Yee's entry on the class here. Cheers!

Have a Merry X Mas and Happy New Year from me. See you next year! :)

Day 81

Today was a horrible, dreary day at the gym! Boo! But I'm still quite satisfied with the overall workout because I got to try everything that I told myself that I ought to do. :) Today I'm including more pictures on the blog... make it a little bit more lively here. :P

Started with Boot Camp Workout - new class that's replacing BLT. What is Boot Camp Workout? I allow the poster @ True Fitness to describe it :

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

If you cannot see clearly / don't wanna strain your eyes, here is the description:

It's called Boot Camp Workout for a reason! You work your heart and muscles by going from one exercise to another with NO rest. The work out includes calisthenics like jumping jacks, crunches, push ups, and other body weight exercises at different intensities - guaranteed to burn lots of calories! This effective and efficient workout class challenges your body to its limits and taking it to another level.

Sounds interesting ya? Just for this class I went to Taipan at 9:45am instead of heading directly to Jaya 33 as I'm wont to do on Saturday. Alex C is the instructor --- I was there early and at first he thought I was the only student. And he said, "If you're the only one, then can die one you know." @_@ Of course I wasn't the only one la! After such a warning, if I *was* the only feller, I would have walked out of the class. :P :P We started the workout with 5 minutes on the strider outside the studio. Strider @ level 5 was easy peasy for me... normal only. :P *action*

Went back to the studio, and saw that Alex has arranged some weight training equipment around the studio. Basically every few steps or so there is a "station", and at each "station" you are required to do a certain form of exercise. We start with 6 stations, and then add on to 8 stations. For each round, we do 2x of the circuit. Spend only 2 minutes at each station... so basically plenty reps but low intensity. Can be quite interesting as you won't get bored with one type of exercise for too long. KIND OF LIKE BODY PUMP la, but since the weights at each station is pre-prepared, you kind of don't have a choice but to use something that is too light or too heavy for you. Maybe next time will go in to class earlier and place my own 'special' weight resistance at each station... huhuhu.

ANYWAY. Yes, the 1st circuit was something like this :
-> squats
-> chest press
-> dunno what is the term for this. basically you pull the weights down to your knee, pull back up to waist, repeat 3x. Works the lower back? I also donno.
-> tricep extension
-> lunges
-> biceps

2nd circuit :
-> squats
-> squat jumps onto a step board
-> chest press
-> the thing I don't know the proper name for
-> tricep extension
-> tricep extension again, but instead of lying on board and using weights, use body weight.
-> lunges
-> biceps

Like that la. I found this more fun than Body Pump because you get to move around a lot more... perhaps so happen there were about 6 of us, so the studio wasn't too crowded, and while doing you can observe other people around you... hehehe.

Perhaps next round I will choose heavier weights! Don't feel the strain on the upper body at ALL. Only feeling it at my thighs at the moment because of the lunges, squats (for squats of course we use heavier weights) and the jumping squat thing. But must be careful not to strain self too much, got one guy got woozy towards the end of the circuit. Boot camp workout, don't play play! :P Ended the class with another 8 minutes on the strider. =)

After that, I hurried and drove over to Jaya 33 for Body Attack with Jason. Thanks to the construction and the shitty drivers at Taipan + lack of parking at Section 14 (due to morning market aunties) I ended up 15 minutes late for the class. But in a way I was fortunate too... the class was INTENSE! There was only 4 of us (and then 3 because one gal left after Beware of The Dog --- ya, beware indeed!), so Jason could give his full ~concentration~ on us. Making us do lunges ~all the way down~, running ~faster and faster~, etc etc. For Chealsea Dagger, he was on the same side as me (by now only 3 of us left, so when we face each other 2 against 2, he had to join us on the floor)... so I really felt the "tension" of doing the choreo next to the instructor. Why tension? Scared if I don't move fast enough for the 3-step knee then he might knee me in the back instead, muwahhaha. So ya... thank God only 45 minutes of Attack, else I might really pancit tayar. Some more for Grace Kelly (conditioning track) he kept saying "lower... lower" during the squats. And then came over and pressed my shoulder to go lower. Nearly collapsed la! (actually I did.. hehe)

Was thanking God when it was all over... and headed to my main reason for always going to Jaya 33 --- Dance Mania with Danny. Gosh, did I ever mention that Danny really looks like my colleague Binz? Anyone who goes for Danny's class and reads my blog? Hehehe... maybe you'd agree with me. Those who don't, this is how I think our instructor looks like :

Binz is the 3rd from left

For Dance Mania we did bellydancing, but not authentic one (as described by Danny) --- added in his own flava to the mix. Quite fun also la, and not as intense as the other Dance Mania dances (Spice Up Your Life, Cha-Cha) done by him. Don't really remember the song that he did ... it's one of Shakira's earlier hits. The dance move is nice though, and I loved it when he arranged us in "formation" so that the class could see our own dance moves when we are close to each other. =) I love the movement where you are leaning back and then still shaking the hips upwards. Sexy! I sms-ed my boyfriend after the class to say that next time I will show him the dance moves... mwuhahaha. Sure he will give me some BAD comments. >=\ Hahhaa, and I kena commented by Danny again for giving weird facial expressions while dancing. Hmph! Not all the time what!

Had time off at this moment to go for lunch, etc. Gosh, sadness to the max. Was planning on walking around section 14 and scouting the good food around the area. But it was raining! No wonder the gym was so cold! Freezing! Ended up had to eat in Jaya 33 itself. After that, was still antsy, wanted to go walk around, but since raining went back to the gym. Found out that there was a water shortage of some sort. No one allowed to use toilet or bathe, and the swimming pool was also closed. T_____T The day I have time to swim, it's closed... you tell me tulan or not. By this time it was just drizzling lightly, so I somehow walked around section 14 until I went into Jaya supermarket... blablabla... then went back to the gym for BOdy Step, but because my handphone DIED on me (battery ran out) I missed the class and it was packed... haih. Sat in the least-coldest area of True Fitness and ... read storybook. :P :P

I also took a picture of this to show you yet another new class being introduced in True Fitness. Got some drama involving this thing, I'll tell you if I encounter it PERSONALLY:

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

FYI, coincidentally Alex C walked past just as I was snapping this photo. He came to me and ask me how come so "yuk shuen" (disgusting) kinda picture also I want. T_______T Omg, so malu. At first I thought it was Giggs talking to me (typical Giggs behavior to go and comment on my actions). As I was explaining the purpose of me taking the picture, Alex C continued with, "Not yuk shuen meh? That guy is like, in his underwear only." T_______T Please la, don't make it sound like I'm trying to pervert on the yoga master. T_________T

Waited until it was time for Body Jam with Su Lin. Su Lin is one super duper hype, cheerful, happy lady. Even if you're feeling down in the dumps, you can't help but be infected with her craziness and go crazy yourself. Jam was not bad, started with :
~ Watchin' (Freemasons) - warm up
~ Beg For It (Omarion) - isolations
~ old skool performance track feat James Brown, Fergie, etc
~ hip hop performance track feat Bobby Brown, BEP, Snoop Dogg (the one Jason has been doing previously)
~ recovery track (Long Way To Go)
~ cool down (Beautiful Liar)

Hehee.. Su Lin said she going to introduce really old performance track, scared me for a while there. Luckily did it twice in Jason's class! =)

And lastly, finally, damn a lot to say... went for Cardio Defense. Again, if you can't see what was written on the poster, here's the description:

Learn the art of self-defense in this fun and interactive training program. Cardio Defense develops your physical fitness and burn calories while showing you the fundamental self-defense techniques so that you are fit physically and mentally

The instructor is Feynman... first time I heard this name I ask Raymond to guess what nationality the guy is. I said could be Brazilian like the trainers in Celebrity Fitness or our Capoeira instructors. Raymond said, "Certified is a chinese guy...".

He was right. :P

Anyway, the starting quite scared me... we had to take off our shoes. -__- And then for about 20 minutes we were doing things which was some what like YOGA. Stretching here and there... holding positions, learning the basics, breathing techniques, etc. Then he made us partner up to do "response" or "reaction" training. Damn scary ok! Asking us to hit our partner! Also damn paiseh to hold my partner cos I just did like 4 classes? Damn smelly la ok! Shy betul!

Some more, after all my "accidents" in Body Combat classes, I am damn afraid of hitting some one now. =p And there's huge potential for injuring your partner ok. And if you don't go all out, then feels like you're not really training pulak. I ended up laughing hell a lot during this exercise, don't ask me why! This instructor must be boh song with me by now.

After that, we learned some basic punching techniques. He insist we should aim towards our opponent's solar plexus (middle of the torso, between the rib cage). Maybe because I'm used to BC when we aim for people' face (damn brutal), ended up punching at face level. To "train" me, the instructor stand in front of me and ask me to punch him in the solar plexus... omg.... T___T Damn scared for few reasons:
a. He guide my hand down so low at first I thought he wanted me to punch him in the crotch. Damn scary ok!!! Why would I want to punch someone in their crotch!
b. When I punch him, he like, didn't move away. And said, "Harder..." in this bored voice like omg, not pain at all!
c. When I punched him for a few times, the sound that comes out is like "piak piak piak" macam slapping someone's backside only. Hard to explain la. I was hoping for a "booooof!!" kinda sound. Drama a bit, you know.
d. After punching him few rounds, my knuckles damn pain, wtf.

Lots of random exercise after that... we learned 5 stances also.. on what to do when facing an opponent. Block -> elbow him to the face -> back elbow secret opponent sneaking behind -> lunge and side elbow earlier opponent -> elbow him in the spine when he has fallen -> right side elbow again to sneaky opponent again. Hhahaa.. this one was quite fun. Funnier when Feynman insist on Adrian helping him demonstrate the "real usage" for these stances. Adrian had to hug him from behind for damn long (kononnya trapping Feynman). Hahaha!!

Some fun stuff we also learned today:
-> walk like a duck
-> walk like a crab
-> walk like a bear
-> hindu push up (??)
-> dolphin push up
-> rolling on our back
-> perfect 5x45degree opened feet ideal kung fu stance.com

Oh ya, there was some ~*drama*~ in the class... Feynman split the class into two sides, and then each side got one person who has to hold a "target" for the other person to kick. Adrian was the target holder... and then when Alex saw Adrian holding it, he had to go and kick a few times (I mean, kick the target, not Adrian). Super intimidating lor! Alex's kicks all hit the target squarely and perfectly. @_@ The first time I kick, I think... I hit air! But thankfully didn't end up kicking Adrian's face, that would be mortifying!

Anyway... got one gal (incidentally, my partner from earlier) who when kicking the target, fell down. Aiyo... damn dangerous la! SEe la, this is what happens when you don't wear shoes in the studio!

Damn funny la... I was wearing my Figo #7 shirt, and then Feynman calls me "Figo" when "encouraging" me to do my push ups ("come on Figo, go lower") ... wtf.

Well, that was a pretty INTERESTING class all in all... but don't think I'll do it on Monday. Will only THINK about going for it in Jaya 33 since it's more convenient... it's held at 9:05pm in Taipan... I want to go for Dance Revolution Para Para in Jaya 33 at the same time. =p

Thankfully by the time I wanted to go home, the water was back @ the gym, but DAMN low pressure. Not only was the water barely enough for me, it was ICE COLD!!!! OMG!!!!!! But I rather freeze for 20 minutes than to go home sweaty and smelly. TORTURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Day 70

I am tired, breathless, aching, worn-out, somewhat-slightly-disappointed, but most importantly.... I HAVE SURVIVED! :) Nope, my marathon didn't turn out as what I had hoped and outlined yesterday, and on top of that, there were instructor replacements, which kind of threw my schedule out a bit. Not to say that the replacements are not good, but... you will find out later la!

Okie, I woke up late, so that's why I didn't go for swimming or Body Combat. Was a bit jealous when I finally went to the gym, cos BC looked damn happening... studio was packed. Considering that it's an early Saturday morning, I really the dedication that the students have to wake up and EXERCISE first thing in the morning. Hoping to change myself too. One of the reasons why I signed up for TF was because I imagined that I could "pop by" the gym in the morning before heading to work. The total amount of times I have done this since signing up is zero. ZERO!! Anyway, I really wonder if I have the stamina and lung capacity to work out in the morning and then work out at night as well. I'm a real unhealthy kid, have an unhealthy job as well (sit in front of PC and code til brains fall out) ... I really wanna be healthier!

I can see from my sidebar that for the month of October, I only skipped gym 5 times. That's pretty good, but I wish to be the type of person who goes to the gym EVERYDAY. Maybe you think that's really "no life", but truth is perhaps I memang no life unless it is certain months. If I'm not "no lifing" at the gym, I'll be "no lifing" at work or at home! It's really a sense of me having to be on the move and doing something... I feel it's really wasted if I just spend the day sleeping in my bed ALTHOUGH that is good some days! :P

Back to the main story. Oh ya - I fell UP the stairs in TF Jaya33. Think no one saw, THANK GOD ALMIGHTY. Luckily didn't injure my beautiful face either wtf.

Started mini-Sat-marathon with Body Attack with Jason. Got one lady in the class, super high-energy gila ... my God. It was her 2nd class for the day, still full of energy after BC. There's one track, the one where you have to "run round" the studio, later run inwards and out of the circle. My god... she went and grab the weights from the corner of the studio and run with it as well. Memang was changing the style a bit here and there for HIGHER IMPACT. Really RESPECT lor! Already Body Attack is so ... energy draining that we have members walking out halfway through and she really goes all out! I wanna be like that! Hahahaha. I just did like normal, sweat like mad... was a wonderful workout. Jason did the latest release again, have no beef with that at all. The only track I dislike is the one with all the lunges. I just did lunges yesterday! Memang screaming in pain.

After that, went for my must-go-class... which is Dance Mania with Danny... gosh, his class is really different from Meei's one, each got their own positive attributes. Choreo is superb, nice to see (if done properly), nice music as well. This time we did some more sexy ass-shaking steps to a song which if you are a Body Step enthusiast, you sure find it familiar as it is from the speed step track that goes Everybody do the cha-cha~~. Sorry don't know the name of the song ... Anyway, it's a really nice class.... more people join the class please! The more the merrier... =P =P Guess what? Before I went for Dance Mania there was this dude who I saw a fortnight ago in Danny's 1st DM class in Jaya 33... he was practicing the dancesteps to the SPice Up Your Life! song we did !! My gawd... so hardworking. I think I forgot the steps for that song. I don't want to forget the steps to today's class. It's so nice.... *sincerely saying this* I'm thinking about writing it down, but 2 weeks down the line, my 'instruction on paper' will look like Russian language to me! XD

[stop for lunch since I don't do Body Pump ... too challenging!]

After that was Body Step, replaced by Raymond. I went for his classes when he was shadowing before... he was doing a mix of old tracks. Somehow quite tired, not really up to it, although I gained back my energy after recovery track (Dance, got the nice hip shaking move).... hehehe. Quite sad cos he did Heatwave, but I did badly in it... don't think I can catch the beat, don't know if I'm tired or whut. Hard to explain...
Anyway for speed step I like Heatwave, Chihuahua, I Want Candy, Everybody do the cha-cha~ (again I donno the name of this song). Ended the class with This is How A Heart Breaks. My God, I used to be SOOOOO good at this track. I'm not boasting ok! I mean, I knew EXACTLY when they switch from the side taps to the squats to the knees to the over-the-boards. Now semua hilang already. Sumbang balik kepada instructor. The reason why I'm kinda avoiding Body Step now is in fear that they'll make my calves big again.

But then I decided I don't care la. I'll just do 1 hour on the crosstrainer to even things out. @_@

Finally, ended the day with Body Jam, which was supposed to be Su Lin's class, replaced by Jason. Jason's class again! I was sked that he would do the same stuff as he did yesterday, and indeed the first half of the class was so! Never mind la, I stood in front, so can action AS IF I am a regular Body Jam-mer, hohoho! And now I remember, that disco-ish song that he mentioned is to the tune of "Celebration" (by Kool N The Gang, I think!), but they changed the lyrics to "Let's Get Down tonight.. yeahh!!". Now that I know the choreo, I really like this song! It's really happy, bouncey, somewhat sexy also, especially at the chest pump part. Looks cool! And guess what? Raymond and Shirlyn joined his class also, they were behind me! Felt so zhi bei lar! But good also cos if I am not sure of the step, can just look in the mirror and got 2 "gou sou" behind to check. Muwhahhaha...

2nd half of the class was taken over by Shirlyn... who did the "Beyonce arms" block, aka Ring The Alarm, Put Your Hands Up For Detroit, What Comes Around Goes Around... ah I'm sure you regulars are familiar with this performance block already. =D "High-octane" is what they use to describe it... and it is, especially with the "5 step running" bits. Fuuh. How did I survive? Pure love for Body Jam... (koff)!

Oh yah, we did Lolita by Prince for recovery... damn the steps are hard. I remember when mr you first did it... I hated it! But him and the regulars in his class freaking love it and he did it almost every week. >=( Anyway, thanks to him.... I got the hang of it (somewhat) already. Darn, wish we had Umbrella again! We all crowded to the center and became backup dancers for Jason, haha! So it'll be cool to do that for Umbrella instead. =)

In between classes, I also managed to do some light weight training:
a. 3 sets of tricep extension (10kg, 7.5kg, 5kg) ... can't seem to find bicep curl machine in TF Jaya 33!! Maybe that's why the one in Taipan is so overused (the cushion sudah berlubang)
b. 3 sets of abductor (25kg, 20kg, 15kg)... Was not bad!
c. 3 sets of vertical traction (15kg, 10kg, 7.5kg)... not bad at all man! I used to think 10kg is super heavy already!
d. 3 sets of chest press (15kg, 10kg, 7.5kg). Again, I have improved! Previously can die at 10kg!
e. 20 abdominal crunches... not enough time --- had to run off to book good spot in studio for Jam

Went home after that.... been pigging out the whole day. Am actually compiling a list of nice restaurants around gym area. Will post it up after I have scouted the ENTIRE area (within walking distance), which means long time before it'll be up. Don't have to hold your breath waiting for it. =p

P.S: Am very upset that I didn't get to go swimming cos woke up late! Now I'm in a quandary over what to do tomorrow. I have PT in Taipan, but that's at 7pm. I can still go swimming in the morning in Jaya33! And then I can go for BC! Then relax somewhere and go Taipan in the evening. But Taipan has much nicer classes on Sunday. Got BC also AND Body Jam in the morning! What to do?

I'm upset because the night before I stayed up late digging out a more suitable swimsuit for the pool! Less skimpy than what I wore before ahhahahaa! Anyway, it was a swimsuit I bought about 4 years ago... and it is looser on me now! OMg... so happy. I'm thinner now than I was back in college, whaddya think about that! =)

Day 59 + 4th Day of Infiltration

Ahhhhhhhhhhh... my body is sooooooo sore at the moment. A great kind of tired soreness! I can't believe it, I planned it and I thought about it, but didn't think I could execute it. Once again, it is time for GYM MARATHON!

The plan was to do 5 classes :
>> Body Combat
>> Body Attack
>> Dance Mania
++ break for lunch ++
>> Body Step
>> Body Jam

How does that schedule sound to you? Insane? I managed to do it!! Only because there's two dance classes to break up the intensity, but let me tell you, I still sweat like mad for all five classes. It was insane! In the words of Jason, "Sweat like you've never sweated before!". Wtf wtf wtf.

Anyway, I'm so loving this gym la. It's located in a convenient place, and once again - FREE PARKING! (I don't park in Jaya 33 itself). And damn, some of their class line ups are quite good, better than Taipan. It'll be great to switch between the two, maybe spend 3 weekdays in Taipan, 1-2 in Jaya33. Then weekends if I wake up early will be Jaya33, late weekends will be for Taipan. OMG good plan or whut! Some more passport membership is cheaper (in the long run).

Dunno how long my enthusiasm is going to last though. I mean, I used to freaking love Taipan right. Also damn convenient and all. Too bad both these places are missing a HYPERMARKET. -___-

Right right... anyway, back to my marathon today.

Started the day off with 3 sets of my tricep extensions before Body Combat with Delon. This is my first class with him, he seems to be very talkative and very pro-eating fast food to compensate for calories burnt during classes. Hmmm... anyway, he did a mix of old and new tracks. Damn nice tracks, like the full metal jacket one (is that what's it's called? I really like it), tribal dance, . . . don't remember most of the feng tau music. Also did one of my favorite cool down tracks ever - When Love and Hate Collide. Good class all in all, although for the first 15 minutes my legs felt damn sore (wonder why? The last class I did was hot yoga & swimming for chrissakes!), so I was thinking about scrapping the whole 'marathon' idea.

After I had changed for the next class, saw that Jason was already in the middle of warm-up for Body Attack. I love it when classes are quite empty (although the instructors don't like that, of course). I sooooo enjoyed myself in the BOdy Attack class, could press on full speed ahead and jump and run and all that. I quite like the latest release of Body Attack after this class! :) I also like how Jason calls everyone his "brother" and "sister". Lol. During the circle track, we were supposed to end the track with a jump (and a punch in the air), but I thought it was ending with a knee (because we were doing high knee runs). So bloody looked like I was going to knee Jason in the chest, muwhahaha! Who ask him to force me to run til the knee was up to his waist! :P (Of course he had to add, "Wah. You try to kick me ar. Why? I'm so good.". @_@

I loveeeee Body Attack! XD

But do you know what I loveeeee even more? Dance Mania! It's a new class being conducted by Danny, previously was Funky Line. Pauline came just in time to join me for this class, yay. Anyway, the class started out pretty scary, because even for warm-up, Danny has a very unique way to warm-up la. Stretching more than normal people. But the warm-up track is quite cool, I forgot the 1st one, but the 2nd one is And I'm Telling You... (Jennifer Hudson? Or Jennifer Holiday?). The entire class is like MTV Jam / Cardio Jam. One whole hour dedicated to learning the choreo for one song. But each week there will be a different song. And he will do a mix of Latin, pop, hiphop, etc. He's a man of many talents la, basically. *kofF*

Today, he did erm... a mix of Latin and pop I guess. I am damn scared whenever people do Latin because the movement is damn sexy and like I've said time and again- I don't do sexy! But it was too the Spice Girl's Spice up Your Life, which is so kitschy and upbeat, who can hate dancing to it? It was very nice choreo --- if you can follow la. I die-die also tried to remember everything, but as usual, got some parts where I nearly run into someone else because I'm going in the other direction. ^^ Got lots of body rolls also... totally cannot do, I had to cheat by replacing some steps with others, otherwise I'll still be stuck at the first 8 counts. Anyway,I really enjoyed the class la. Really feel like going for it next week (means I'll have to upgrade to passport, wtf). Pauline said the instructor was looking at me whenever I did my usual nonsense... ehehe, sorry to be such a brat in the class. ^^

Had lunch after that, and when I was eating in this restaurant opposite the gym, I saw XXX who I got to know in FF walking into the TF gym. XXX is a rather prominent person in FF, so I really couldn't believe my eyes. I actually ran out of the restaurant to question him on why he's stepping into TF. :P But that actionpot totally ignored me, asked me a random question ("Aren't you late for class?") and then like went to the consultation area. WTFFFFFF. I am damn p.o'ed. I don't know if he's doing some kinda espionage or he don't remember me or whatever la. Next time I also actionpot back to him la. (sour)

Lunch was surprisingly light, shabu-shabu! Anyway, it didn't hurt my performance in Body Step class, although I was not as fast on the quickstep track, and I was reallllllly starting to feel soreness in my legs. But the ego in me refused to let me quit. Roland did a mix of old and new tracks as well, including my favorite power track at the end - Tribal Dance (yes - again!). Also, nice conditioning and cool down tracks - I believe In a Thing called Love and Stickwitu.

Ended the day with Body Jam with Su Lin. My first class with her! Saw Jon in the class as well, surprise surprise. Anyway, he talk crap la, said that he stand at the back because he's not good but as I had suspected, he memang has had lots of practice in Body Jam already. ^^ Again, nearly langgar other people in the class, but that was in the warm up. *bleh* We allocated the first half of the class to the new release (which meant the warm up track, Tambourine, Let's Get Loud, One and Only and Umbrella). Yay for One and Only! I'm damn obsessed with this song, want to find the -uncensored- version. :P

Oh yes, the instructor is perfectly lovely! She is so freaking enthusiastic and when she says, "Go crazy!!" she herself goes quite mad and frantic and her attitude is just so infectious. We did the performance block which has Hollaback Girl, Shake That Thing, Gossip Folk, etc. One of my favourite tracks, thanks to all the jungle arms, ass shaking, salt-and-pepper shaking etc. Wahhhhhhh although just underwent 5 classes, was super stamina and jumping around everywhere during her class.

Told you her attitude is infectious. ;)

And that ends my marathon for today. :) Know what else I like about working out here? It's just another 15 minutes drive to Midvalley so that I can go for evening-shopping. Lovely.... :) Bought new ipod headphones after I accidentally laundered my original ones. :( Expensive mistake. RM119 down the drain - literally!

Day 35

Yesterday, I definitely had to go to the gym. I haven't been blogging much because I haven't been going much, simple as that. I don't even want to calculate how much $$ I have been wasting, but believe me, it's really "a series of unfortunate events". Starting with my car accident, then the manager who fetches me to work having a lot of work lately, so he goes back late too, and then me falling sick.

Do you know how sien it is to come home at about 8pm each day, and by the time I pack and reach the gym, it'll be about 8:30pm - 8:45pm (because Jalan Tujuan headed towards USJ is DAMN JAM then), and then not have much nice classes anymore? At first I was quite semangat and did that... even if it's just to run for 25 minutes on the threadmill. Then I fell sick. And actually til now, the cough is still quite bad. My mom also shocked. Lasted for about 1 month (my sickness).

Well, til now I still don't have my car back. Previous weekends had some other stuff to do, but this Sunday I was free and I grabbed the chance for a LONG and leisurely workout. I ended up working out for FOUR hours!!

Let's see, I started off with a 15minute run on the threadmill. Couldn't really last very long. This time I didn't do a gradual increment. Started at 7kph, then increased to 8, 9 and then 10kph. Wooh! But it was really nice running at 10kph to Fergie & Daddy Yankee's El Impacto. I really love that song! Raymond @ The Office is saying that I'm becoming a feng-tau-er, but then again if that means I don't adore Carrie Underwood, then I'm okay with that. 0:-)

After that, I hurried off for my Body Attack class, only to find that it had been replaced with Hi-Lo with Ambika! Well, no probs there, I've always wanted to try Hi-lo. And yes, that was my first class! I was convincing another lady to join the class, because she was debating over whether she would be able to follow the steps or not. :P Anyway, the Body Balance instructor from the prior class came out to explain what Hi-Lo was and also convinced her to join in the end. The class was quite small, about 8 of us. The regular Attack-ers were MIA!

Don't see why, because as Ambika says, this class is kinda like Body Attack! Erm, let me put it this way, Body Attack is to Hi-Lo what Body Jam is to Cardio Dance. Meaning - in Body Attack each sequence goes with one song, but in Hi-Lo, the sequences keep adding up... can be quite confusing la. It's like the "performance track" in Body Jam! But it was still fun, no harm joining more classes anyway.

I had about an hour before going for my next class, so I decided to tone up. Yes, I've decided to definitely never join Body Pump classes because I always get so intimidated by the amount of weights even the small size ladies are able to carry. Its not like I want to bulk up, just tone up a bit, I think carrying like, 5-10kg is sufficient? Must go and "pik zhi kei" to carry 20kg meh?? Anyway, this is the list of sets that I did on Sunday:
1) 15 x 10 adductor (outwards) - 15 (pls note I don't know if lb or kg... just look at the number on the weights.. haha!)
2) 15 x 10 adductor (inwards) - 15
3) 15 x 10 low row (10)
4) 15 x 10 leg curl (10)
5) 15 x 10 leg extension (10)
6) 15 x 10 leg press (15)
7) 15 x 10 calve extension (10)
8) 15 x 10 glutes (15) (this is such a fun machine to work out on!)
9) 15 x 10 trunk curl (10-15??)

Then it was time for class! Hahaha, I'm surprised I got so many done in between classes anyway. I'm VERY slow when doing sets. Especially the glutes, since I had to do 15 x 10 PER LEG. Anyway, its' really a bad idea to do sets before Body Step, my gawd, I really felt the strain on my thighs! I somehow managed to last until the last power track of the day. Actually, I wanted to walk out during the speed step track, but Roland did "heatwave" which is one of the fun-nest speed step tracks evar. Then again, I really like speed step tracks (walking on sunshine, chihuahua, walk like an egyptian), so there's a high chance that the instructor will do a likable track. =p

When I got home, I thought I would need counterpain, but I was surprisingly macho and didn't even feel much pain.

On Monday, I couldn't laugh (because of the trunk curls) and my thighs ache like mad.
Today's Tuesday and things aren't any better. Well, I can't go to the gym anyway due to a certain monthly ritual. Maybe later la.

The good news though, is I'm getting my car tomorrow! (note : I'm posting this on Tuesday) So that means I'll be back to my gym-bunniness in no time at all. I missed you True Fitness! You even smelled different on Sunday. =p

Day 25

I missed Capoeira on Thursday because I couldn't find a parking space, and there's really no point going to the gyms on Thursdays if not for Capoeira. Ended up going on Friday to make up for things with a Body Jam & Body Step back to back class. Body Jam was Jason L's class, while Body Step was Roland's (with Annie shadowing).

We're back to the old tracks with Jason L (Raymond shadowing), only did 1 new track from the new release. Did the Ran Can Can performance track, which I used to love but have now forgotten most of the steps. And when he announced that he was going to be doing CANDYMAN, wanted to slit my wrists, because that's the #1 track that I cannot do, the #1 track that I've labelled as "gila babi hutan kalimantan" level of difficulty. However, seeing the rest of the class being able to twist and turn their way across semi-inspires me (maybe its the ego) and now I'm determined to get the steps right! By the way, on JULY 19th, there is going to be the first evAr themed class for Body Jam - which is PYJAMA JAM. Sounds good? Then see you there... IN THE DRESSCODE! I can't wait to show off my jammies. =D They are so old school it'll make you laugh.

On the other end of the scale, Roland still stuck to all the new releases, which is fine by me because I think the new Body Step release is really nice (despite what Jacky from FF says!), especially for the cool down.

That's about it for Friday... I remember walking out of the class feeling dead proud that I finished two classes, but wondering when the day will come that I can finish THREE classes back-to-back. Even after Body Step, Roland said he couldn't imagine doing Body Combat after that. Been ages since I did BC. =\

Day 22

I haven't been gymming often for a good reason! I went to Singapore on Friday evening and only came back on Tuesday evening ... yup, for the GREAT SINGAPORE SALE. You can read about it on my main blog over here. Anyway, I walked a whole lot there, stayed at Rochor Rd and it was near Bugis Street / Suntec City Mall so we walked walked walked everywhere. And of course in Singapore, it was a whole lot more of walking and sightseeing. But don't let me fool you into thinking that I actually LOST weight on this trip. No sirree, we ATE a whole lot as well, and you know what? I think I'm getting quite a hearty appetite, even on days when there wasn't much activity, I was hungry as a horse! My colleagues said, "Hey, doesn't it seem like Leech is eating once every hour ??" SCARY!! And the cycling bit at Bedok Pier got cancelled. -___-"

Also, I carried a slingbag everywhere, aside from my essentials (read: wallet, ipod, handphone, camera, etc), I had a 1 liter bottle there... omg! I had a very bad sore back (right side), so I was silently weeping that I couldn't go to gym til it was healed properly.

So when I came back, I took two days rest, and the back still didn't feel good, especially when I had lots to carry (groceries) and I had to walk a bit of a distance... just a SHORT distance, like from the outdoors parking lot to my office. My back would start throbbing. Even worse is driving for long distances. After about 30 minutes of driving, my back would start throbbing again. You think I worried or not leh?

However, I couldn't just sit still, and on Friday, I ended up in the gym for Roland's Body Step class. I could've gone earlier, but it was @#$@# month-end + mid-year closing at the office, so I was tied up with some stuff. Felt so emo, because my work could've been done quickly, but due to misunderstandings and what not, ended up leaving 3 hours late. -__-" Anyway, Body Step was good, reverted back to previous releases already. Hey, my favourite warm up track is the If you want to do it, do it right song. It's so catchy and upbeat. Should be everyone's mantra from now on. No point doing things if you aren't doing it right, right?

But I was sooooo out of shape, it's scary! I think I BARELY made it to the end of the class. Must be something to do with the place I'm standing, because a LOT of people quit the class halfway / three quarters of the way through. Must be too stuffy or something. I also really had to push myself, and kept taking water breaks every song or so! O_o Anyway, I'm proud that I made it to the end... :)

Too bad I just didn't stay longer. :P
